One of my very favorite weekends each year (well, it’s only happened twice, but you get the point) is the Hirst family visit the weekend of the formula one races. It’s such a wonderful weekend and we get lots of family time with them as well as the guys going to the races and Adrienne and I sneaking away for a meal. All in all it’s lots of fun, lots of laughing and by the end it feels way too short.
Clara was super excited that we had a girl in the house!
And of course Baron was thrilled to have his two favorite girls in one place.
Hard to believe that these two are really this big.
Our traditional Friday night dinner of spaghetti.
Precious little Keanan looking like such a big boy.
I just love this girl!
The bigs. . .
Saturday morning Jackson (and his sou chef, Adrienne) made breakfast for the masses.
Craft time.
It was a gorgeous weekend and we spent most of it outside. Neither Ellie nor Charlie knew how to ride a bike when they arrived. . .
Damian showing off his ultra bright formula one shirt.
The babies are 10 months apart which is a pretty big gap at this age. . .but pretty soon they’ll seem like the same age.
I think here they were planning a coup. . .
Jackson trying to negotiate a lower price for the pony rides at the farmers market. He was not successful.
Saturday night. . .Charlie learned how to ride a bike without training wheels!!! He was on Jackson’s old balance bike for a few hours and then bam-he had it!
Story time.
Not to be outdone by her little brother. . .Ellie learned to ride a bike without training wheels on Sunday morning! It was so cool seeing both Charlie and Ellie learn to ride within the same 24 hour period!
It’s pretty tough to try to take a great picture of 6 kids (ages 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1). So, instead I just settled for having all of them physically in the same picture. . .
Man, I sure love those babies!
Hard to believe that these two used to be only children!
And, of course, after I asked for a picture of Jackson and Ellie- Baron immediately wanted one as well.
Sunday lunch before they had to head back to Dallas.
Silly face time. . .
Charlie always wins for the best silly faces.
Lincoln showing Keanan his tools.
Precious little guys!
Not sure what Charlie told them. . .but soon their mouths were all open.
The littles. . .
This weekend was SO wonderful and really did so much to lift and brighten our spirits! I hope that the annual visit continues because we start looking forward to the next one as soon as we watch them drive off.
