November 16th the Hirst family came to stay with us for the weekend. We were thrilled to see them!
First of all Lincoln discovered his feet for the first time.
On the first night they were there we had a spaghetti dinner. Jackson wanted he and Ellie to have a fancy dinner at the dining room table.
The middle guys dined at the disney table.
The big kids ate their dinner on china. Jackson loves any excuse for a fancy china dinner.
Adrienne decided to try to get them to recreate the spaghetti scene from Lady and the Tramp.
Pretty stinkin’ adorable! Although I was glad that it was Adrienne’s idea. Damian turned around at one point and said he thought Ellie was on an episode of “The Bachelor!”
Jay and Damian went to the Formula One races on Saturday. That left Adrienne and I with the six kiddos. She had the brilliant idea to go to Ikea where they have free childcare for 1 hour. So, we dropped off the 4 big kids and went and hung out in the café with the babies. Little Keanan is always such a joy to be around! Lincoln just slept the entire time in the stroller.
Later that afternoon the kids rode bikes etc outside. I stuck Lincoln in the exersaucer for the first time. I had to prop him up with Bear’s red jacket but he liked it. Can’t believe my baby is already in the exersaucer, it seems like just yesterday we were putting Jackson in for the first time.
Adrienne made up some great bedtime stories for the bigs.
Best pals.
Saturday night after the 5 bigger kids were down Adrienne and I (and sleeping Lincoln of course) went to dinner for her birthday. We were both shocked when there was a wait at the restaurant. Kind of funny that since having kids we’ve gone out so little on the weekends (and even less after 5 p.m.) that we completely forgot about waiting for a table.
Sunday Jay fried a ton of fish and the guys watched the Formula One on Damian’s lap top (we don’t get the Formula One channel) while we ate.
Lincoln was napping but we tried to get a shot with the 5 other kids.
I don’t even know if it’s possible to get a good picture with 5 kids?
And here’s sweet Charlie playing with Bear’s fire truck. I just love this little guy!
The weekend with the Hirsts was exactly what we needed. It was like being near family again. Jackson cried for a long time after they left.
We miss seeing them each week so very much and can’t wait for another family weekend very soon!
