We went to Beach City again this year for Thanksgiving and it was, as always, wonderful.
The morning that we left Lincoln was wearing one of my favorite outfits. I’ve got pictures of all 3 boys in this. Not even sure why I love it so much but I do.
Jackson thought that Daddy was probably missing us so he wanted to cheer him up by texting him some silly pictures at work.
Jay replied with this jewel which made the boys happier than you can imagine.
I also put Lincoln in the ergobaby carrier for the first time. I figured he’d outgrown the moby wrap.
That afternoon Jay came home early and we headed to Beach City. The holiday traffic was HORRIBLE. It took us over 6 hours to get there.
Luckily we forgot all about the drive the next morning when the guys went fishing.
That, my friends, is the face of a happy man! Love that sweet fisherman of mine. . .
Nanny is so much fun and always has great projects with the boys. They picked lemons off of the tree and then made fresh squeezed lemonade.
They were thrilled with the results!
Another day they picked oranges and made fresh squeezed orange juice. We also made my favorite, fresh grape fruit juice. It’s so awesome that they have so many fresh fruits and vegetables growing on their property!
It’s so cool that my guys have a hobby that they all love and can do together. I know there will be many fishing trips for my 4 guys in the years to come.
It was a huge treat that Carter, Uncle Heath’s son, was able to spend Thanksgiving with us. This was only the second time we’ve been able to be around him (the first time was when he was just an infant) and he’s just precious. The boys loved him (no surprise) and were so sweet helping him play and climb through tunnels etc. We can’t wait to spend more time with him in the future.
Paw Paw was my hero and got up with the boys EVERY morning. I got to sleep until Lincoln got up each day. Lincoln and I were usually up between 7:30-8 but that extra sleep makes a world of difference when you’re up nursing 3-4 times a night.
Lincoln enjoyed hanging out in the walker.
Jackson turned the tree house into a reading nook and took all of his books from Aunt Ree Ree along with molly girl (his huge stuffed dog) and puppy girl (Bear’s huge stuffed dog) up there.
The boys love all of Nanny’s fall decorations.
Bruce came over after duck hunting and of course, the boys wanted to touch the duck. Despite having 3 sons, I’m still a girl and dead ducks gross me out. But I played along and told the boys how cool it was. Doesn’t bother me as long as I don’t have to touch it.
Little burrito man.
Lincoln loved the sunroom.
I can’t even express how much I love these three boys.
Here’s Paw Paw and Jackson from Thanksgiving in 2007.
And Paw Paw and Lincoln 2012.
And lastly, Jackson and a shot of his prized freshly squeezed lemonade. He was so proud and wanted everyone to have a glass!
Yet another fabulous Thanksgiving, we are so blessed!
