Hard Stuff

Today Jack and I were talking and he mentioned that he was thinking about “God and hard stuff.”  I asked him what he meant and he said that it was really hard for him to think about the fact that God was never created.  That He just always was, and that time never started, it just always was.  And that the Father, Son and Holy Spirit were one being but also 3.  Then he asked me if I understood those things well and at what age he wouldn’t be confused about anytime having to do with God, time and the 3. 

This kid needs a smarter mom. 

I just told him that those were really difficult concepts and that they were confusing to me as well.  We talked a little about the Trinity (I used the egg shell, egg white, egg yolk example).  And then we talked a lot about faith and the importance of trusting in God and in His word and that someday when we were all in Heaven it would all make sense.
