Last weekend Nanny turned 70 (although you wouldn’t know it by looking at her!) and we had such a fun time celebrating! I have long called Beach City a heaven for little boys and this trip was no exception. The boys had a blast playing with frogs, turtles and lizards, swimming in the pool, playing in the tree house (built by Paw Paw and painted by Nanny), driving the golf carts and splashing in the bay. Combine all of that with wonderful doting grandparents and what more could you ask for?
One great thing about their pool is that it’s totally shaded by their trees until about 3 p.m. each day. So no sun worries in the mornings!
Jay has been a rock star when it comes to helping Danielle and I with Presents from Alex. He’s spent hours opening and cutting candy wrappers for headbands. When Nanny saw what he was doing she wanted to help out. Thanks guys
Saturday Danielle came over to get some work done and to babysit for the boys so that the adults could enjoy a nice birthday dinner out for Nanny’s big day. Thank you SO MUCH to Danielle for helping out. . .it made the birthday dinner so relaxing. And Jackson was thrilled to have Reagan over for the day.
Once again, Reagan and Jack played together perfectly. It’s so nice when they play because it’s stress free for the parents. As long as you can see that they are not getting into trouble together there are no worries. Love that combination!
They loved watching Paw Paw make the door for the tree house.
Yes, Jack still does “toot face!”
Both boys were so happy all weekend!
Jay and Jack took a walk down to the Bay.
Baron was not happy to be left behind.
If you click on the picture below you can see the blue and brown tree house above my car. I need to get the pictures off of Nanny and Paw Paw’s camera because that’s the one I used to get pictures of Jack playing with them up in the tree house. It’s pretty awesome and they are looking for a pirate flag to go with it. Paw Paw also built a roof but they had it off while we were there.
Paw Paw played with Bear while Daddy and Jack were down in the water.
If one boy is in daddy’s lap the other is soon to follow!
Nanny and Paw Paw enjoying their morning coffee.
This picture is so funny. Jackson is SUCH a mini me of Jay!
The guys all went back down to the bay, this time taking Bear with them.
We have a picture similar to this of Jay throwing Jackson up into the air in Cape Cod at a similar age.
Bear loved splashing around in the water!
And back into the pool with daddy.
Jack is so much more comfortable in the water this year. Now we just need him to swim withOUT the life jacket.
Baron kept pulling the lid off of the skimmer (I think that’s what it’s called) and trying to put stuff into it.
Jay decided to reach thru and grab Baron the next time he opened the lid.
Bear was hysterical laughing and quickly slammed down the lid and stomped it down.
Bear is actually standing on the lid here.
Aunt Mandy gave Baron some super awesome toys for his birthday and this is one of them. Bear loved playing with them at Nanny and Paw Paw’s house and we enjoyed him being in one place for a few minutes!
As usual Jack spent a lot of time with his toy pirates.
I just love this place, we really wish it wasn’t 5 hours away. . .
Another favorite is the pogo swing!
On Sunday Aunt Sherri made the ever delicious strawberry cake. It’s an Adams/Osby family favorite!
Jackson was more than a little excited when we told him he could have a piece. . .
And after his first bite. . .he said he didn’t like it and just asked for some plain strawberries instead. Funny little guy.
Jack LOVES his Aunt Ree Ree and Uncle Dennis!
I just love this picture of Nanny and Paw Paw. They are such a loving couple and a great example to our boys!
Jack loves to help Nanny with anything outdoors!
The golf cart is always a favorite of both boys.
Baron really wanted to go into the tree house and tried to climb the ladder multiple times. It will be so fun when both of my little pirates can play in it!
My pictures are a little out of order but here is our family shot from after dinner on Saturday. We had a GREAT seafood dinner at The Monument Inn. After dinner we went home and played spinners (dominoes) and then gave Charlotte her birthday present. We gave her a video/slideshow with pictures from her entire life and the background was all of her family and friends wishing her a happy birthday and talking about favorite memories etc. It was so awesome and I so appreciate all of the family helping out! And a special thank you to Adrienne and Jamie for all of their help with production!!
Happy 70th Nanny, we love you SO much and can’t wait to come back for another visit!
