Little Man Makes Dinner

I love my kids so very much and try to really enjoy this time with them while they are little.  However, there are some days when I want to suck my own eyes out from frustration.  I think God knows that because usually after a really rough day with Jackson he’ll be the most precious angel ever the next day.  A few weeks ago that was definitely the case.  Friday Jackson was having some serious struggles obeying and then Saturday. . .wow, he was awesome.   We were having a wonderful family day and then Jackson announced that Jay and I needed to leave the living room.  He said, “mom, I’m going to make dinner tonight and clean up so all you have to do is relax.  I don’t want you to worry about a thing.  I’ll make our family meal!”  We left the room (of course peeking in to see what was going on and take pictures) and about 10 minutes later Jack had dinner on the table and ready to go.

He was so proud of what he was doing.  And notice that the day before he had completely tattooed his chest and stomach while I was getting Baron dressed.

He said he had taken care of everything.

He had even gotten zip lock bags for everyone to bag up their left overs.  I love how his brain works.

Jackson had a permanent smile the entire meal. I had planned something else for dinner but he was so excited that we all ate his meal of reheated mac and cheese, grapes, strawberries and ice water.

He said he didn’t want to use the stove for vegetables so he gave us two fruits instead.

He made the meal “fun” by giving us each straws.

Baron was pretty excited about life in general that day.

Anytime Baron see’s a camera he immediately says, “cheese” and makes this face.

That Saturday was such a wonderful and fun family day.  It was one of those days where I just felt so incredibly blessed to have such a fantastic family.  We didn’t do anything special but it was just great time together playing and hanging out.  I love Jay and my boys so very much and so many of our days are just plain happy.  This was one of those days where you just feel good all day and ending the day with such a special meal prepared and cleaned solely by Jackson was perfect.  Thank you to my thoughtful and loving little man Jack for a great dinner.
