Jackson’s school had a bike parade (or as he called it a bike-a-rade) a few weeks ago. I had gotten the emails about it while the boys had that terrible stomach bug and just knew that he needed a decorated bike for the event. So, I asked my awesome and always excited to do a project with Jax hubby to decorate the bike. He and Jackson quickly and excitedly went to buy materials. Jay is so awesome when it comes to projects, he loves to do them. I’m thinking this will be a very valuable trait when the kids are a little older with a lot of homework. Anyway, Jax was thrilled to be working with his daddy and Jay was thrilled to find lots-o-pirate stuff.

Mid-project:
TaDa!!! The coolest pirate tricycle in the world!
Have you ever seen such a scary looking pirate? Jay bought him all of this “pirate” stuff while they were getting the decorations. I never would have thought to add the glasses. . .
Here’s his scary look. And poor little dude tried really hard to wear the hat but his head was WAY too big for it!
After we took the pictures I checked the email again having forgotten what time the event started (I wanted to attend) and read that it was a PATRIOTIC Parade. Hmmm, yes, there’s a lesson in this somewhere. Luckily his school is awesome and the teachers all laughed when I told them about my mistake.
Here are all the bikes just waiting for the kiddos:
The kids were so excited! They came out and got on their bikes and then all said the pledge of allegiance.
They basically just rode around the gym for 90 minutes singing patriotic songs. It was so cute!
Jackson was so happy.
Every time he rode by us he would yell, “Hi mommy, hi Bear, I love you!”
Some of the kids wanted to march instead of ride.
Baron enjoyed watching from the sidelines.
And stealing tinsel from Jack’s bike.
Such a fun afternoon!
