The day after my boys last day of school we quickly ran by to drop off some teacher gifts that another mom had put together. These cute gift card bouquets were made by another mom who has a child in both Jackson and Bear’s class.
When we went to gift the bouquet’s Bear was thrilled to run in and see his teacher and friends.
Bear just ADORES Mrs. Wofford. She’s definitely got a gift for dealing with the babies.
As we were leaving chapel was just starting. Jackson immediately begged to go sing “just one last time” with his friends. Of course I said yes and then just busted into tears as all of the kids sang their praise songs. Luckily the staff is all female so they know the power of the pregnancy hormone. And really with us moving and leaving the school and Jack’s graduation-it might not be all pregnancy. . .
Fortunately I had a reason to cheer up and get moving because we were meeting the Oldenburg’s at the park near where Carolyn and I used to be neighbors. It was such a treat to see them and also Carolyn’s former roommate Laura and her two sweet kids.
Jack was in a boy type of mood and quickly skipped over the girls who were playing My Little Ponies and got straight to climbing trees.
Bear and Liese enjoyed being pushed in the swings by Chris.
It was no surprise to me when I turned around to see that both of my boys had taken off their shirts.
Jack may not have been impressed with Cora and Rubye playing ponies but Bear was quite intrigued.
Laura, with her two kids-Rubye and Graham and Carolyn and I with our crews.
The following night we were able to meet the O’s along with Ann Renee and Bill for dinner. It was such a treat as I don’t think we’ve had adult time with them in literally YEARS!
These men could not be more opposite but get along SO well!
As we have for years we just LOVE the Oldenburg/Thrash families and look forward to many more years of incredible friendship!
