Not only was April 9th Uncle Jeremy’s birthday AND the day that Lincoln got his helmet off. . .BUT Jenna, Mia and Lennon ALSO arrived that day for a super fun week long visit to Austin!
One day we loaded up and went to Ikea to get a rug for our living room. It was great because the kids (Jackson and Lennon) got to go to child care. Unfortunately we got paged to come get them. Apparently Jackson was not following directions and kept burying himself in the ball pit and Lennon slugged a kid. Neither kid even tried to defend themselves against said accusations. . .such is life with boys. . .
One day we went to the farm school to play. Mia and Lennon taught Jackson and Bear the fine art of building fairy houses. They loved this project (well, Jackson loved building and Baron loved destroying them) and got super into it.
I just love having all of the cousins together (Lincoln was asleep in the ergo carrier and not available for pictures)!
Lennon was very proud of the staircase that he built.
The next day we headed to Aunt Mandy’s house. Mia and Lennon went to spend the night at their Uncle Dustin and Aunt LeNan’s house and we planned to meet up the next morning at the zoo.
When we get to Mandy’s she gave the boys their Christmas presents (we hadn’t been to Mandy’s since Memorial Day weekend 2012).
They were so excited to receive a tent, backpacks filled with wonderful camping supplies and sleeping bags. Now they are ready!
Sweet Aunt Sissy help Jack set up the tent.
Sissy and Bear (two of the silliest people I know) goofing off.
Mandy’s “bucket-o-water guns” is always popular!
Lincoln scooting around.
Lincoln got lots of love when the Francis family was in town.
Another surprise for the boys was these awesome hand painted (by Nick and Mandy) tire swings. They love them and spend lots of time spinning and swinging.
This is one of my favorite pictures of the boys right now. I just love the beautiful scenery at Mandy’s house.
Jack and Aunt Mandy having fun.
Jack ate 8, yes, EIGHT grilled chicken legs that night. The prospect of buying groceries for 3 teenage boys some day terrifies me!
Sissy and Jack have been known to goof around a bit as well!
After the kids went to bed the adults hung out and played giant janga-it was a blast!
You just have to enlarge some of these pictures-they are too hilarious. . .
Kelsey trying not to knock over the tower.
Oh no. . .Jenna knocked it over!
Jay was deep in contemplation.
Of course Mandy and Nick intended for Jackson to swing upside down. . .right?
Uncle Nick and Aunt Mandy are pretty stinkin’ awesome!
These pictures are a little out of order but here we are back in Austin hanging on the new rug.
I can’t tell you how much I love my precious little nephew!
And back to San Antonio. We met up with the Francis cousins and also some friends of Jenna’s who used to live in Boston.
Cousin Kendra bought cotton candy (a VERY rare treat) for the kids at the zoo.
Teeny man sleeping through the animal exhibits.
Pals and cousins Mia and Kendra.
The kids had a ball.
Cutie pie Reagan.
The oldest and youngest of the Sheriff grandkids.
Jack doing what he does. . .constant movement!
It’s hard to keep clothes on the Bear.
At the end of a super fun day at the San Antonio Zoo.
Sometimes I look at Jack and can’t believe how old he’s gotten.
The 3 amigos.
It just warms my heart to see these crazy sweet hearts playing together.
Lincoln loved the rug!
Mia got to spend the night with Kendra after the zoo and they had a blast!
