A Perfect Family Day-Hamilton Pool

On April 27th Jay planned a family day for us at Hamilton Pool.    This was one of those rare days where the sky was perfectly blue, the birds were singing and everything was just perfect.  That morning I made a big breakfast and then we ran by the farmers market to get some of the kids favorite kombucha. Hamilton Pool is about an hour away so we had a nice drive with some great conversations with the boys.

Once we arrived we went on about a 2 mile hike.
Here’s Jay showing the boys a big spider hanging from a web.

This place was so beautiful!  We couldn’t swim in the pool (pictured below) because there was too much debris from all of the recent rain.

Gorgeous scenery.

Jackson picked out his own clothes for the day. . .can you tell?

IMG_3666

Lincoln was a serious trooper.  We left the house around 10ish and didn’t get home until after 7.

My 4 loves.

There was also a lake where we could swim.

IMG_3672

Jay was incredibly nervous about the boys wanting to go swimming spontaneously in their clothes but I encouraged him to live on the edge and let them go in.  There were a bunch of kids in their undies swimming.  We originally had planned to bring swim suits but called and found that the pool was closed and didn’t know about the lake.  Thus the lack of proper supplies.

The boys had such a great time and were thrilled that Jay reconsidered and let them swim.

Then Jay turned super crazy fun dad and got in the water with the kids.

We had planned on being home by dinner but had spent far more time than anticipated having fun and decided to stop on our way home.  Dinner out with the boys was wonderful. . .and it’s not always like that.  The waiter even commented on how well behaved the kids were—perhaps because we were all starving from our day of hiking and fun.  But whatever the reason, it was a very much needed relaxing day of nature and fun with the family.

What a blessing of a perfectly perfect day!

The 3 Boys 9 Month Pictures. . .

A friend of mine, who also has 3 boys, was saying the other day that she couldn’t tell her kids pictures apart.  While I think my boys look similar I think they each have a very distinctive look.  Here are the 3 boys, all at 9 months, all in the same onesie.  I bet you can tell them apart!

Lincoln’s 9 Month Check Up and Pictures

Last month when we were in Dallas I took Lincoln for his 9 month check up.  He’s doing very well but shocked me with only being in the 57% for weight!  As you can see below he’s the continuing in his trend as the lightest of the Adams boys.  The percentiles are a little off as we were with a different pediatrician until Jackson was 3 so their charts vary a bit.  As usual here are the 3 boys stats for a fun comparison:

WEIGHT

Lincoln                 21.3 pounds                             57%

Baron                    22 pounds 10 ounces          85%

Jackson               23 pounds 12 ounces           90%

HEIGHT

Lincoln                 30.77 inches                           97%

Baron                     29 1/2 inches                          90%

Jackson                31 inches                                    90%

HEAD CIRCUMFERENCE

Lincoln                 19 inches                                   98%

Baron                    18 1/2 inches                            83%

Jackson                not written down                    97%

The drive back to Dallas is definitely not super convenient from Austin but this doctor is fantastic.

At 9 months Lincoln is doing very well and is such a little love bug.  He’s out of his DOC band and still not sleeping very well (and still in his infant carrier) but loves to cuddle and snuggle and is a very happy little guy.  He still gets up 4+ times a night and won’t really sleep anywhere but at home (not a great traveler).  He’s in ECI (early childhood intervention) for delayed milestones and is doing very well in physical, occupational and speech therapy.    We’re blessed to be working with some awesome ladies who come to our home 3ish times a week.  While I’m thrilled that he’s doing well-I’m not in an entirely huge rush for him to crawl-I know what a game changer that will be and am not anxious to baby proof again!
Lincoln has 1 bottom tooth and 3 more (2 top and 1 bottom) coming in.  His teeth take FOREVER to break through and it’s really tough on my little guy.
Linc spends a lot of time in the ergo carrier (when ever we are out of the house) and I just love feeling him snuggled up to me for so much of the day!
I was able to sneak out for some time with just Lincoln the other day (a very rare treat since the boys aren’t in preschool this semester) and I got his 9 month pictures taken.
Is this the sweetest and most precious little red head you’ve ever seen or what?

We’re not big Tony Romo fans but I love this 9 onesie because we’ve gotten each of the boys 9 month pictures taken in it.  Of course the actual size is 18 months but it’s fit each of our boys perfectly at 9 months.

This shot does a great job of capturing Lincoln’s most common expression.  He's always happily watching his big brothers and all of the excitement that surrounds them.

I love little Lincoln so very much and am constantly amazed that I am so blessed to be his mommy!

April Fun. . .Mostly Lincoln. . .

Lincoln is growing and changing so much each day that I just can’t help but take pictures.  Of course, that shouldn’t surprise anyone!

Don’t worry, if trouble ever befalls the Adams family—we’ve got two fierce soldiers ready to deploy at all times!

In April we finally started going to the farmers market.  It was awesome and we had a great time together.  The boys favorite parts are always the live music, face painting and balloon animal guy.

Here’s the cover to a note Jackson wrote to me and left on my bed.  Pretty sweet little guy.

Another great thing about having a third baby is that I always have two eager helpers.
