As I’ve mentioned earlier, the second week of February Jay and I were struck with the flu. It was NASTY. Jay had been in bed for 3 straight days (literally sleeping 20+ hours a day) and I was taking care of the kiddos and feeling beyond exhausted and horrible. Then, out of the blue my super sweet neighbor (who I barely know) randomly dropped off a huge container of homemade chicken noodle soup, bread, flowers and organic milk for the boys. It was so nice and such a “God thing.” I was feeling so down about being so sick and not being near family (despite all 3 sets of our sweet parents offering to come get the boys) and this was really such a tremendous blessing just to know that someone who I didn’t know very well at all cared enough to do all of this. And then my awesome dad and Laura took the bigs for the weekend. Only taking care of one baby was never such a relief as it was that weekend. And God definitely used my neighbor to change my attitude and lift my spirits.
Even during the flu Lincoln needs a bath each day (part of the band/helmet routine). His sweet face always makes me feel better about everything.
Post flu I decided one day to take some pictures of the big boys rooms because well, they were clean and I wanted to have them in the blog to look back on some day. They aren’t decorated the way they were in Plano but I’m sure we’ll get around to it eventually.
Here’s Bear’s room:
And Jackson’s:
Poor Lincoln had a nasty cold and double ear infection the week after our flu.
Luckily the jumper still made him smile!
For Jay’s birthday we met him for lunch at Chuy’s near his office. Jackson just idolizes his sweet daddy.
This is the top to our February calendar this year. I did a collage of each kiddo for their birthday month. Love that sweet little Bear Bear.
Lincoln takes great naps on daddy.
Bear enjoying some yummy french toast with fruit.
Here are pictures of the boys school Valentine’s parties.
Jackson having fun and getting ready for a Valentine’s Day treat. They had ice cream sundae’s. It was definitely not a “healthy treat” but at least I brought good ice cream and toppings. Jack had a hard time understanding when we were talking the day before because he thought he was getting ice cream on a Sunday. He’d never heard of an ice cream sundae before.
Jack’s class playing V-Day bingo.
And Bear’s class party:
This is out of order but here are the boys filling out their Valentine’s cards for their class mates.
Somehow I didn’t get a picture of Bear’s but here’s Jackson’s current hand writing.
And the happy boy ready for the party.
Later in the day on Valentine’s Day Jay went outside and played football with all of the neighborhood kids. They had a blast and Jackson was so proud as all of the kids talked about what a cool dad he had. Since then one of the little boys in the neighborhood always comes to the door to see if “Jackson and Jackson’s dad” can play. Pretty great stuff.
