People of Costco

So, lately I have been feeling pretty yucky again.  Jack’s been wetting the bed at night and waking me up around 4 to change his sheets.  Due to my fun pregnancy brain I can’t go back to sleep so I’m a little (or a lot) crazed most of the time.  Today I rushed to get tons of things done, boxes packed, invoices logged etc. before the kids school Valentine’s party and then my brain crashed.  One of my usual “activities” with the kids these days is to go to Costco.  The boys love going there (I know, it’s sad) and I can aimlessly roam in a daze and let them try a few samples and look at toys.  We went today and I was thankful that there was not a “people of costco” site like “people of wal mart” because I *might* have qualified.  Anyway, so today marked one of my most embarrassing moments at costco.   My very not politically correct 4 year old treated me to this conversation when a man on a motorized cart drove by.
Jackson: Hello sir.
Man: Hello.
Jackson: I see that you are elderly, and that your legs don’t work.  Nice cart, mom has to push ours.
Me: freaking out while Jackson keeps talking
Jackson: I say elderly because it’s a more polite word for old.  So, you are definitely elderly and get a cart.  You are very cool.  Does it have umph?
Me: dying on the inside and wishing I could think of anything to say or do other than to smile and say something polite and quickly walk away. . .
So, I did the only thing I could which was to walk away and let my kids sample something I otherwise never would have just to distract them.  Of course when we got into the car I talked to Jackson about his conversation.  And then I had a talk with my self about how not to look stupefied and stare as if watching the planets collide the next time (and we all know there will be a next time) this happens.
I will be so very happy when my brain returns. . .if my brain returns. . .
