A few nights ago I was pretty sick (morning/all day sickness) and had the chills after having been sick several times. Jackson was snuggling in bed with me and looked over as I shivered and said, “mom, you’re not about to turn into a fire breathing evil octopus bad guy are you? I love you but that will really freak me out!”
Luckily, afore mentioned morph did NOT take place.

Bear’s 2nd Birthday/Dedication Celebration
Bear’s birthday was on a Sunday this year and it just so happened that it was also the day he was dedicated at church. Before the dedication we had the family over for a little dessert party.
I made a special cake for the boys.
And the adults had the super yummy cakes from Aunt Mandy.
Jack loved having Uncle Jer around!
He’s always happy when family is over.
Tickle time with Nana and Papa.
Jack and David.
Bear knew just what to do with the candles.
After dessert we headed over to the church for the dedication. They had this table set up for our group. I loved the books that they gave to Bear and also that they had coloring books, crayons and lots of snacks to keep the kiddos busy during the ceremony.
There were several kids being dedicated that day and they had pictures of each one with their families on different screens throughout the room.
Brotherly love.
Other than Jackson Bear’s two favorite people are Ellie and Charlie (and when Keanan is mobile I’m sure he’ll be added to that list!).
The Hirst family had just arrived home from Disney World the night prior. Despite being exhausted they still made it for Bear’s special day. They are, of course, like family so it meant so much to have them there.
My fav girl Ellie.
Pals Bear and Charlie.
One of my all time favorite people, Grandmommy!
By the end of the dedication Bear was totally over it and getting grumpy. I guess it’s kind of a tradition for him to be unhappy on his birthday. Poor little guy is having a tough time with those two year molars.
Jack and Ellie at Bear’s dedication. . .
And just for fun, Jack and Ellie at Jack’s dedication. . .
A rare shot of the 4 of us together, too bad Bear wouldn’t smile.
While we had such an awesome day we definitely missed Nanny and Paw Paw who had come down for the dedication on Friday and had to leave suddenly Saturday morning when Nanny got really sick with the flu.
Baron Isaiah Adams, we love you so very much and it was an honor to dedicate you. We have prayed for you since before you were born and know that God has big plans for you.
Papa Fun Day
A few weeks ago Jay had a class ALL DAY Saturday and as I was trying to figure out what to do with the boys Papa called and invited us for a day of fun. We went to the Fort Worth Stockyards and it was a blast.
The boys loved all of the animals.
Such a fun day!
Jack wanted to try to rope a steer (it was stationary for the kids to practice). He, of course, roped it on the very first try.
Then he got to pet a real one.
And then the rides! Jack was in heaven and this was his favorite. I was afraid he might get to the top and get scared but apparently he has no fear of heights. He loved it!
While heights did not bother him at all this ride did. Papa said Jack was sliding around and he was having to hold onto him so that he didn’t fall out. Not Jack’s favorite.
And back to the slides again.
After a fun morning at the stockyards we went to lunch and then for Papa and Jack to get ice cream.
It was, as usual, a super fun day and special to spend time with my sweet dad and the boys awesome Papa. That night Jackson asked me if Papa could come live with us. When I told him probably not he simply replied, “well, what if Nana and Freckles came with him?” So, Papa, the offer stands. . .
Bear’s 2nd Birthday Play Date
The Wednesday before Bear’s birthday we had a joint birthday play date celebrating his and his buddy Parker’s second birthday. The kiddos had a blast and it was stress free for me which is a huge plus these days.
Emilie and Andie Jane.
Silly Jack.
Birthday boy Parker.
Frankie Joy.
Tess.
Levi.
Jess with Rileigh and Parker.
I just can’t believe that my baby is 2!
Brenda and Lauren.
Jack and Jennifer.
Love my tiny Bear!
Steffanie with Andie Jane and Colton.
Kiri just checking things out.
Little Kaiden.
Rileigh and Jackson were best buds. And Parker wanted a beautiful dress like his big sister. Jackson was very confused!
Little Kaiden was thrilled to climb the stairs for the first time!
As we were leaving the party Rileigh ran out to our car in the most dramatic way possible and stuck her head into Jackson’s window. She flung her arms around him and said, “Jackson, always remember, that I will NEVER forget you. I love you!” It was quite possibly one of the funniest kid moments ever. Hilarious!
Such a fun way to celebrate Bear’s 2nd birthday with our sweet play group friends!
