Jackson's First School Play

The Thursday before last was Jackson's first school Christmas play. It was so cute! His preschool has kiddos ages 1-5 and they did an awesome job. Jackson was very excited about his songs and practiced them at home the entire week prior. Unfortunately Jackson couldn't sleep well and only got 6 (instead of his usual 12) hours of sleep Wednesday night. That morning he was feeling great though so I thought it would be fine. He was very excited to get dressed and get to school and did a great job with his first song. Then as they were exciting the stage he suddenly started crying for me. I should have just let his teachers comfort him but I was so worried that his disturbance would mess up the play that I just grabbed him. Anyway, he just sat in my lap with his head on my shoulder asking if we could go home and go to sleep. At the end of the show he was supposed to go up on stage with the whole cast and do one more song. He almost did it, when I told him he could sit by Ellie but then he decided against it. We ended up taking him home after the show and putting him down for a 4 1/2 hour nap. Adrienne has some cute clips of the show on her blog. Click here to see the videos.

Jackson fixing his hair before school. He was so excited about his show and even said he was going to steal the microphone.

The teachers placing all of the 1 and 2 year olds on the stage. His shirt was tucked in when he arrived at school.

Singing "jingle bells," you can see Ellie sitting to the left of Jax.

Happily singing.

The kids were all shaking their bells.

Class pictures in the nativity scene. Jackson picked up the baby Jesus and wanted to take him home.

Can you tell Jackson is exhausted?

Taking a closer look at baby Jesus.

Jackson trying to steal baby Jesus again. He has also asked if we could name our new baby Jesus. Jay and I have decided against it.
