A few weeks ago we went to Jackson’s buddy Max’s 5th Super Hero Party. We had been having kind of a rough week so a fun family time was just what we needed.
All of the super hero’s getting ready for their training. Max’s mom, Libby, was dressed as Super Woman and lead the training.
When the villain (Max’s dad) came out he had bombs (black balloons) that the kids had to jump on and pop to try to defeat him.
The villain telling the kids of his terrible plans.
Jay and Bear got to have the trampoline to themselves while the heroes were fighting the bad guy.
I don’t really remember how the piñata played into the theme but the kids loved hitting it. Of course then it wouldn’t bust open so one of the dads had to pull out a knife and just cut it open.
Bear loved the bounce house.
Silly string was the final tool to destroy the villain.
Lots’ o treats!
Jack eating a non sugar sweetened cup cake.
Bear kept hugging this owl. Pretty funny.
This was the only time that my boys were in the same frame.
This is in just because Bear and I aren’t in many pictures together.
At the end of the party Jack finally took the time to visit the face painting station. This was actually the highlight of the party for me. Jackson was in a group of ladies (including the homeowner, Max’s grandmother) talking while they painted his face. One of the ladies said, “who does Jackson belong to?” I walked up to see what was going on and she said, “Jackson has the BEST personality! He is so funny and such sweet guy.” It was just what I needed to forget all about unemployment, the stolen car and everything else going on right now. Having someone else say something so nice about my sweet boy made my day.
Of course being at a party with so many active “hero's” also thrilled me because they were ALL loud and running around and I wasn’t having to worry.
As you can see below Jackson chose what any Spiderman would chose for face painting. . .batman!
On the way home Jackson said it was the most fun party he had ever gone to. Definitely a perfect boy party!
As a side note, here’s the conversation that Jack and I had at bedtime:
Jackson: mom, I love you so much. We had a great day today.
Me: I love you too Jack.
Jackson: You are the best mom ever. I would never trade you. Unless it was a costume contest because Libby’s costume was way better than yours (parents were encouraged to dress up, I wore a super man shirt and jeans and figured that was enough). So, I might trade you, but then I’d trade back after the contest.
Me: Thanks Jackson, that’s sweet that you would trade me back.
