Jax had his first day of MDO yesterday and he loved it! He woke up super excited and wore his backpack all morning. We made breakfast and had some extra snuggles so that I wouldn't miss him too much. I knew he would be having a blast all day.
I dropped him off and at first he was a little hesitant about me leaving but his teacher, Mrs. Brazeal immediately got down on the floor with him to play trucks. At that point he ran to give me a hug before happily plopping back down on the rug to play and waving bye bye.
So, while he LOVES school and even asks to go back I'm not sure we're going to make it. He usually naps from 1-4p.m. at home and they can only take a 60-90 minute nap at school. Last night was rough for Jax. He was so exhausted and I just felt awful that he had missed the sleep. So, at Jay's request I'm going to give it a month to see if putting Jax to bed earlier on school nights will help any. I know he loves it but I just don't want it to be at the expense of his sleep. Oh well. . .we'll see!
Also Jackson was so happy when I picked him up and kept singing "the wheels on the bus go wound and wound. . ." He apparently memorized only that one line. Upon arriving home he wanted to snuggle for about 20 minutes and then he was off to "fix things with tools."
He kept checking to be sure his backpack hadn't gone anywhere. And by the way, he picked out his own first day outfit.
Kind of a goofy picture but I love his excitement.
Once we got into the school he was very happy. And of course he not only held the door for everyone (one of his new things) but insisted on carrying all of his stuff.

Playing on the floor with Mrs. Brazeal.
After snuggles he got straight to work while I made dinner.
Being the safety guy that he is, he always wears his safety goggles when he works with his tools:)

Too cute! I'm glad he loved it and I hope you figure out a way to make the sleeping work out!
