The week preceding Easter Lincoln was up 4+ times every night (yes, still) so I was running on fumes. So much so that I made a very detailed list of all that I needed to bring. Luckily, once we arrived at Nanny and Paw Paw’s I realized that I had only forgotten one thing. Unluckily, the thing forgotten was MY (and Jay’s) suitcase. Oh well, much better than forgetting something of the kids. Anyway, so I went to target to grab some underwear etc. the next day. Upon returning home (Paw Paw and Nanny’s house) I had this conversation at the dinner table. . .
Jackson: Mom did you get some underwear?
Me: Yes.
Jackson: What kind did you get?
Me: (feeling uncomfortable) Um, just underwear.
Jackson: Yeah but mom what kind of underwear?
Me: (increasingly uncomfortable, wondering how he even knows the difference?) Just regular Jack. Are you excited about the swing set buddy?
Jackson: But mom, WHO did you chose to be on your underwear—super man? Spiderman? WHO?
Me: (suddenly remembering what a BIG deal it is for my boys to shop for underwear and select their favorite characters to adorn their behinds.) Oh-I just got plain colors-no super heroes.
Jackson: Aw mom, you should have spent a few more dollars and gotten yourself something really nice. At least one super hero!
Have I mentioned lately how much I love being a boymom!?

Easter at Paw Paw and Nanny’s House!
Before we went to Nanny and Paw Paw’s house for Easter I decided that the boys needed hair cuts.
Baron had quite a mess of hair that was in desperate need of being tamed.
And you can probably see the true reason for the emergency hair cuts in this picture. Yep, Jackson cut his own hair in two places. . .both in the front. Nice.
Bear’s hair had gotten SO long!
Afterwards they both looked great and we were ready to go to Beach City to celebrate Easter.
Jackson having one of Nanny’s cinnamon rolls for the first time. As you can imagine, he was an instant fan.
Lincoln got lots of great time with his sweet grandparents.
Nanny is like the baby whisperer!
Paw Paw loves babies and they adore him right back.
And speaking of Paw Paw-have I mentioned that he’s basically the most talented swing set builder in the whole world?! Back in November when we were in Beach City Jay and I were talking about wanting a play structure for the boys. Well, Paw Paw (who mind you completely built he and Nanny’s amazingly beautiful kitchen) said he’d just build one for us. We were obviously thrilled and touched that he would take on such a huge project. I can’t even begin to imagine the man hours that he has put into this. Needless to say, it’s not only the coolest play structure that I’ve seen but it’s also built with love. He showed me how he even rounded out all of the corners on each block of wood so that the boys wouldn’t hurt themselves. Incredibly cool-thank you Paw Paw for something that the boys will have so much fun on for years to come! I’m still so blown away that he can just take a bunch of huge pieces of wood and turn them into this!
Lincoln’s picture of the week.
The boys goofing off. . .nothing new.
More work on the super awesome swing set. I can’t imagine how much fun the boys will have on the 6 foot rock climbing wall!
There house is always so peaceful and beautiful.
Bear and Uncle Dennis.
It was an extra special treat that we got to see Carter two of the days that we were there!
Lincoln enjoying Carter’s swing at Aunt Ree Ree’s house.
I tried to get a good picture of the 4 boys together. I settled for these. . .
The kids all had fun playing together. Carter fits right into the mix and I know it will be even more fun when the littles are a bit bigger.
Aunt Ree Ree put together an awesome Easter egg hunt for all of the boys.
My boys love hard boiled eggs so Bear tried to eat an egg. . .in the decorated shell. . .
Sweet Carter on the tractor.
Bear still loving his new bike.
That night, Easter eve, the Easter Bunny came to Nanny and Paw Paw’s house and left wonderful treats for the boys.
They were so excited to see the loot the next morning!
Lincoln was cracking up and couldn’t even open his eyes.
Lincoln in his “Baby’s First Easter” onesie surrounded by his Easter treats.
And of course no trip to Beach City would be complete without a few pictures of my handsome hubby with his fish.
Fishing makes Jay one happy man.
Due to our tragic letting go of Zeke Jackson needed a new pet. Nanny proved to be the coolest grandmother ever when she helped him catch these two lizards—note, I don’t catch lizards. Jack was ecstatic to welcome Zeke 2 and Christopher into our home. And I can report that a month later, they are still doing quite well!
Once again we had a great time and I’m again just so thankful that my boys are so blessed with such incredible grandparents. AND on Saturday night we put the boys to bed and went out to dinner JUST THE TWO OF US! It was our first date with no kids in 10 months and it was awesome. . . Happy Easter!
