A Day at the Zoo
My boys love the carousel at the zoo. We rode it 14, yes, 14 times that day. Luckily we had unlimited free passes.
“Mom, I’m a stunt man who jumped on a tiger while fighting a bad guy!”
The guys loved spinning in the birds nest.
The kids also loved the camel ride.
Bear bonded with the camel ride lady while watching Jack’s ride.
Bear wanted to ride but only if Jack would help him.
The cool snake exhibit was a major hit with both boys.
Next was the monorail ride, once again the boys were in heaven!
This afternoon:
Me: Look boys this salamander is in danger, it's a type of reptile that there are not too many of anymore. Due to lots of different circumstances this creature might not exist anymore if we aren't very careful. . .
Jackson interrupting me: Mom, stop. Bear, it's an endangered species. If the rest die it will be extinct like the dinosaurs. That means no more in the whole world.
Bear, totally clueless: I like trains!
My kids crack me up!
This day was awesome and we decided to go to the zoo as much as possible this summer.
A Fancy Dinner
Jackson has been begging lately to have fancy dinners in the dining room. A few weeks ago I decided that it was time. Jackson was so excited and happily set the table. He had already eaten dinner (Jay gets home way too late for Jack to wait) but he did get to stay up late and sit with Jay and I while we ate dinner. Jack was thrilled and I was really glad that I had given in on such a small issue to make him so happy.
Disney on Ice
This year our play group went to Disney on Ice again and of course had a blast. I didn’t take many pictures (shocker I know) but I did get two.
Ellie, Jack and Dylan, best buds.
Jay couldn’t go at the last minute due to work and luckily Uncle Jer filled in. The boys were thrilled to have Uncle Jeremy with us and I loved having another adult along!
The Simmons’ Flowers
We had our 4th annual trip to see the beautiful flowers in the Simmons’ garden this year with Grandmommy.
It’s hard to imagine that all of this is someone's backyard.
This picture reminds me of a shot of Jeremy and Grandmommy from 25 years ago.
There are more pictures of Bear because Jack was attempting to climb trees the entire time.
Every time Bear would start to run off Grandmommy would say that she was scared and he would immediately run to her side and hold her hand. Bear adores Grandmommy.
A rare shot with my two boys, just to prove that I was there.
I love this picture, although I think Grandmommy was a little terrified because right after this the boys laid down on their stomachs. Strangely, I was not phased, I guess I am pretty immune to their risky behavior. . .
What a fun afternoon hanging out with one of our most favorite people in the world!
Police Play Date and Easter Egg Hunt
A few weeks back Adrienne hosted a play date and had a police officer come and talk to the kiddos. They loved it and got to climb in her car and ask questions.
Getting ready for the officer.
The kids loved the lights and sirens.
Bear and Frankie Joy were more interested in the swings.
Until they all got to climb into the car.
Then they each got stickers and little toy zebras.
Bear of course ran up and gave her a hug.
Hopefully this will be the only time Ellie and Jack are in the back of a cop car!
They are cute though!
Next came the Easter egg hunt. The big kids went first.
Bear and Parker barely noticed what was going on.
Rileigh stopping her hunt to pose.
The bigs! These are my favorite kids ever. Jackson, Ellie, Rileigh and Dylan are all buddies and have been for almost their entire lives.
Even when the littles started their hunt Bear didn’t care. He had more fun pushing the toys.
Jack made it his mission to help Kiri find eggs.
Amy, Zoey and Izzy searching for eggs.
We had a super fun day and just love our awesome play group!
