On October 16th Baron and I flew up to Boston to surprise Jenna for her 30th birthday. It was a very last minute plan that was made possible by Jay being an awesome husband who said he would do whatever it took for me to be with Jenna on her birthday. Thanks so much to Jay, my wonderful friends and father for helping with Jackson so that I could be gone for 4 days. It was so much fun and such a special time to spend with the awesome Francis family!
Here’s mom getting ready for the party. Shelby had taken Jenna out for a little while. I should mention that I was so excited to see Jenna that Shelby and Mia picked up Baron and I and we went straight to their house. I just knocked on the door and left Baron on the front door step holding a birthday card. It was so funny and Jenna totally freaked out. Of course things took a sad turn when Jenna cried realizing that Jackson hadn’t come with us. We did miss Jackson terribly but I know he had an awesome time at home while we were gone. So, showing up right before Jenna as supposed to go with Shelby was probably not the smartest idea of mine. It totally threw off the plan for Shelby and Jenna to leave so that we could set up for the surprise party. Anyway, Jenna was trying not to go and at one point Mia pulled Gaga aside and said, “I don’t think this is going to end well!” Finally Jenna agreed to go and we started cleaning and getting ready for the surprise!
Mia was so excited about the party and was so much help. She cleaned the entire living room by herself and as you can see it looked perfect! She even had the idea to tie balloons to Jenna’s baby cowboy boots. Mia-you rock!
Mom had brought Jenna’s playbills and cheer leader pictures from high school to decorate the house.
Mom brought cake balls all the way from Texas. She also ordered a super delicious cake!
Everyone brought appetizers to share.
Jenna’s loot starting to build.
Gaga and Mia looking beautiful!
Gaga, Jessica and Osheda.
Mia was so excited that she borrowed Jenna’s earrings and make up. She is the SWEETEST little girl who has ever lived. And no, I’m not prejudice!
Mia made Bianca get dressed up as well.
Lennon with Jenna and Gaga right after the big surprise.
The Francis family!
Ok, these are a little out of order but it’s late so we’ll just keep going!
Here’s Sissy with Bear.
Mia dressed up many times during my 4 day visit.
Baron napped on the road many times as well!
We were able to go to Jenna’s church moms group and it was so much fun. Poor Baron got to play dress up in the child care room. He didn’t seem to like the crown.
Bear and Gaga.
Lucky for Bear, Mia got out her crown at home as well.
I LOVE this picture of Mia and Baron. Maybe I can photo shop the crown out?
Mia wasn’t able to hold Baron over the summer due to her broken arm. She definitely made up for lost time during this visit. She’s awesome with him and he adores her.
Concert time! On my last night in Boston Mia put on a super rock star concert and Lennon set up a concession stand.
Lennon giving me the cookie that I had paid for.
The rock star performing! Mia has the awesome CD’s called “Kid Bop” that I seriously want. They are all of the pop/top 40 music that I love but with all of the inappropriate lyrics taken out. So, she was performing the hits!
Lennon took the stage a few times as well.
Not only did Mia know all of the words to each song but she also had dances made up for each one. It was so funny and kind of made me want a little girl. . .or at least made me want Mia!
Mia’s play list was posted.
Jenna was actually doing many of the dances along with Mia. I have videos of the entire concert, I am hoping to post them soon.
Lennon needed two cash registers for his business.
Duet time!
At the end of the concert Lennon jumped up and announced, “it was a good show and the other thing that would have been better would be if I was on the stage more!”
I told you these were out of order. . .now we are back to the surprise party!
Jenna loving one of her gifts!
Osheda, Walderi, Clare and Crissy.
Sissy and Mia.
Mom made an awesome video with interviews (of Texas family and friends) and a slide show for the party. It was so funny and Jenna loved it. Here are some shots of Sissy hysterically laughing while watching the video.
Kevin, Suzanne, Jenna and Shelby.
A few group shots.
Jenna, you are the most amazing sister/best friend in the world and I’m so happy I got to be with you for your 30th. I love you more than you know and so enjoyed spending some time with your awesome family!
