What's Next???

I have recently had to keep Jackson away from all stools, chairs, or anything else he might climb on. He uses them to get on top of the kitchen counter, table, etc. Anyway, he constantly assures me that he is one step ahead and that I'm wise not to leave him alone. Evidence below. . .

BTW-notice the light on in the bottom oven. He was originally climbing onto the oven door to get into a higher drawer to try to reach the cabinets (where he knows snacks are kept). I would have gotten a picture of that but it was too dangerous.

Now, I am definitely a new mom and amazed by everything he does, but is all of this typical? I just want to be prepared if all little boys are like this because we might have another one some day. I choose to tell myself that all of this running around is because he is such an incredible and unique little guy and that our next one might just like to read:) Of course I am kidding and really do get such a kick out of his inventive nature!

LOL! While I think boys are usually more active than girls, I would say that Jackson is just a TAD more active than average! So there is always the possibility of a quiet, calm bookworm for baby #2...but don't forget that baby #2 will still have you and Jay as parents. He may be calmer, but he'll definitely be creative, smart, and energetic!

Those pics are cracking me up...and worrying me at the same time. I will not be showing this post to Luke! :)

Oh my gosh! He is so freakin awesome. Although he may be a little extra work now, just think of all the amazing things he will work on and discover in the years to come. He is going to be such an awesome person! I'm so proud to be his aunt!

Well, let me tell you, honey - there was nothing short of Fort Knox, that Jeremy could not breech. Get ready. Neither of you girls did that. Jackson wanted to get my coffee maker this morning and he moved a chair over to the counter and climbed up -- while I watched and stopped him. The challenge is to direct all that energy into determination and an ability to stay the course. It's hard not to get side-tracked when your 2-year-old son urinates in the Jet Dry receptacle inside the dishwasher. Remember? I've got a million stories like that one - and you know it! So, cherish your strong-willed baby boy and pray for the wisdom to raise him to be proud that he is determined. Break his strong will while preserving his precious spirit. Easy to say and sometimes most difficult to do. But, believe me, if you can give him Godly guidance, the entire family, as well as Jackson, will honor you for your perserverance. Life just keeps getting more and more interesting with that little guy around!
