Son of a Son of a Sailor. . .

Last Thursday Jackson was 8 months old, I can't believe how fast the time goes by. He's such an amazing little guy who continues to make me smile each morning. Lately he's been busy cruising around the house like a speed racer and army crawling everywhere. He will sometimes crawl on his hands and knees but his army crawl is so much faster that he usually resorts to that to get where he wants to go. He loves to sit in his little arm chair and "read" books (of course he quickly decides that eating the book might be more fun).

And quite often he crawls over to the bath tub and tries to get into it. He LOVES baths and loves splashing!

At this point he's still babbling quite a bit but we don't really understand any of it. He says mama, baba and dada but I don't think he associates the sounds with anyone or anything in particular. Most of the time he points to things and does the ever ambiguous "uh uh" to communicate. We're working on sign language and he understands a few signs (drink, food, fan, etc.) but definitely isn't using any yet. That pretty much summarizes the news on the Jackson front.
Jay is doing better but his herniated discs are still bothering him quite a bit. Jay has always wanted to see Jimmy Buffet live and we were able to go to the conert on Saturday evening after doing a church service project that day. We had a great time and Jay got to hear his favorite song (which he deems Jackson's song)"Son of a Son of a Sailor."
The weekend was pretty busy but really fun and now it's Monday and Jackson is finally taking a nap and I'm folding laundry and typing this. I'm still enjoying the huge blessing of being able to stay home and raise Jackson and finally feeling like I'm getting a handle on the domestic stuff:)
