Sweet Berry Farms

We have gone on SO many fabulous field trips with our home school friends and I just feel so blessed to have such a wonderful group.  I can’t imagine how different my life would be if Jackson was in public school right now.  While it is definitely exhausting and I’ve had to adjust to a “new normal” in a lot of ways, it is also so rewarding and full of so many special moments.  I’m not sure how long we are going to be on this track but our family sure is enjoying it!

One Friday in October we went to Sweet Berry Farms for the day.
First of all we went on a hay ride through the farm.

The farm was so cute.  We went through the corn maze after the hayride and it was great to see the kids running and laughing trying to find their way out.

Next we got to chose pumpkins to paint.

Lincoln was more interested in eating the paint than putting it on the pumpkin.  And the poor little guy had a busted blood vessel in his left eye.

After painting we got to shuck corn and make fall ornaments.

Then it was time for the pumpkin race. . .

And onto stuffing a scarecrow!

The farm planted over 110,000 strawberry plants.  I was so excited thinking about bringing the kids back to pick strawberries and then found out they were sprayed daily with round up.  Even Jackson was surprised and told the owner that we tried to avoid GMO foods.

Having some homemade pumpkin ice cream.  It was amazingly delicious!  And no, Lincoln didn’t get any.  Still no sugar for Dink.

Lincoln was thrilled to have his own snacks.  And he even shared with baby Ezekiel. 

And lastly, they got to jump. . .and jump. . .and jump!

We left the house around 8:30 in the morning and got home at 4:30 in the afternoon.  It was a super fun and super long day.  Afterwards, the boys all needed a LONG bath! 

And everyone slept VERY well that night!

LINCOLN IS OFFICIALLY A WALKER!

As of October 15th, Lincoln started walking 100% of the time!!!  Yay, Lincoln!

Early October

October was full of action and lots of fun.

One afternoon we went to a festival with our home school buddies.  The boys were thrilled to get their faces painted.

They also got to decorate pineapple with chocolate.

Bear was thrilled by the contrails.

Both boys also got tattooed.

Every day after school we have multiple neighborhood kids in our backyard.  I love it so much!

Luckily there’s no competition for Lincoln’s swing.

Have I mentioned how much Baron loves Clara?

Bear is becoming quite the stunt man himself.

 

Jay took the bigs to Beach City and I took Lincoln to Mandy’s one weekend (when we shot his 1 year pictures).  Before we left for San Antonio we had some mommy and Lincoln time.  He really loved his first little ride.  I just adore little Dinka.

 

While the bigs were in Beach City, Jackson wanted to make some money pulling weeds.  He worked for FOUR straight hours.  This picture was taken right as he finished.  His poor little hands look like they are about to fall off.

In October we received the new Pine Cove catalog.  I was surprised and excited to see a picture of Jay and Baron!

One of our home school friends has a beautiful property just 5 minutes from our house.  Jackson loves to fish there during play dates.

Jackson is interested in learning to cook so I’m trying to incorporate some cooking/baking into our school day.  One day we baked an apple pie together.  Clara was over and loved helping us both bake and eat our pie.

After Lincoln eats I always wish that we had a dog!
