Kevin and Kristin’s Engagement Party

In November Lesley and Cameron threw and engagement party for Kristin and Kevin.  Thanks so much to Papa and Nana who were so sweet to watch the boys and we had a blast celebrating with our sweet friends.

Bear’s Hair

Bear’s hair is getting pretty long and crazy.  I love it but I think Jay’s going to veto me and cut it soon. . .

Little Bear

Bear refused to wear his costume at school on Halloween but he looked cute in his regular clothes anyway!

Jack’s Class Halloween Party

The Tuesday after Halloween Jay and I helped with Jack’s class party.  It was so much fun for us and the kids definitely had a blast.

The first activity was the kids painting leaf’s which were later hot glued to frames.

Can you tell my guy was thrilled?!  He was dressed as a fireman that day but got too hot on the playground so he changed into a regular shirt.

Then I read to the kids for story time.

And then it was time to decorate cookies!  Jackson was luckily fine decorating a lara bar. . .with fruit!

My favorite craft of the day is below.  The mom who did this one came up and took pictures of the kids the day prior and then painted and sanded the frames.  The kids painted the leaves which she hot glued on the frames and voila!  I love it!

Jack says the darndest things. . .

*Warning, this post is about poop*

Jackson: Hey mommy, you know what would be really crazy?  If poop was alive.  Then when I finished going to the potty and you came to wipe me my poop would just look you in the face and say, well howdy partner!

Me: Yes, Jack, that would be crazy.

Halloween

This year on Halloween we spent some fun family time together and then Gaga came over after nap to bring the boys treats.  Jack got some delicious coconut dates and Bear got an avocado and some cheese.  They were both thrilled.  They also got cards from Grandmommy with $1 each and Jackson was dying to go to the dollar store to spend his money.

That evening we went to a super fun party at Adrienne and Damian’s house.  After playing like crazy in and outside the house the kids settled down for dinner.

Our kiddos getting ready to trick or treat.  Bear was supposed to wear Lennon’s super cute dog costume but refused.  It was too hot.

It was so fun seeing them run from house to house.  Poor little Charlie did his best to keep up and Bear didn’t even attempt.  He stayed with daddy and Papa.

After the Hirst party Jack and I went to the school carnival with Papa.  Then we came home and dumped out all of the candy and Jackson got to pick 1 piece and the rest we got rid of.

He was very serious about his decision.  He chose starburst at first and then changed to dark chocolate after being persuaded by Jay.  I was of course pleased with the change.

Here is a picture of Bear in Lennon’s costume.  He loved it until Halloween day.  Oh well!

Big Boy Jack

I am proud to announce that on our 4th try (that’s right, 3rd time was NOT the charm) Jackson is now sleeping in a big boy bed!

On Sunday Jack said he wanted to sleep in a big bed.  Jay and I have actually discouraged this move due to the sleepless nights that were spent attempting sleeping in a big boy bed before.  Not to mention the time that it took to take down the crib only to put it back together a few days later.    Anyway, he was very persistent so we relented.  3 days later he’s not had a single problem at nap or bedtime.  Just when I was worried that Jack would be in a crib in high school he’s moved on.

Here’s one last picture of Jack’s room with the crib.  Bear was sad about the crib leaving.  Jack was thrilled.

Here is a typical shot of Bear.  He always puts on Jackson’s underwear over his clothes in the mornings when Jack gets dressed.  Funny little dude.

Jaclyn and Jessica’s 30th Birthday

Jay and I went to a costume birthday party for two of our friends last weekend.

We were party poopers and didn’t dress up very much (hey, I had on wolf ears!) but it was still fun to celebrate with the birthday ladies.

Chris and Jen had the best costumes.  Jen came as Chris and Chris came as Jen’s baby.  Very funny.
