Jackson Fun Day with Nana and Papa

Last week we had our typical Jackson fun day but Nana and Papa made it super special by showing up at the mall to ride horses and have dinner with us:)

Nana bought Jackson some cars stuffed toys at the Disney store and he's been sleeping with them ever since that night:) Thanks Nana!

First Cold Day

We had our first cold day a while back and Jackson was so excited to wear his awesome new coat from Nanny! It might not have actually been cold enough for the coat yet but Jax was so excited that we let him wear it anyway:) Thanks Nanny!

Family Pictures

When we were at Mandy's a few weeks ago she was sweet enough to take some family pictures for us.

Thanks Mandy!

A Visit with the Oldenburgs

Last Friday we had such a treat. . .Carolyn, Chris and Cora came to spend the day with us! It was so wonderful and made me think of how fun it would be to have them live closer. Here are some fun pictures from our day.

Jackson taking a picture of Cora:)

The first of many Jackson hugs.

Carolyn posing for Jax.

Keep in mind that Jackson is only 11 1/2 months older than Cora. She's 19 pounds at 14 months. . .Jackson is 36 pounds at 25 months.

Play time! As usual Jackson had thrown a fit to take off his clothes. Certain things I don't even fight anymore.

Gentleman Jack pulling out the recliner for Cora.

The sweet kiddos just hanging out.

I think Cora is trying to escape.

The beginning of a lifelong friendship:)

Jackson was so happy to have Cora over for the day.

Sweet little Cora playing with the blocks.

Cora loved Jay and vice versa of course.

Lunch time.

I'm pretty sure Cora is wishing she lived closer to her buddy Jackson in this picture!

Cora gave Jay about 10 hugs every 5 minutes. He was loving it!

I love that tiny girl!

Is this girl sword fighting?

Cora loved Jackson's horse.

Chris and Carolyn were having their first child free weekend for Carolyn's 10 year UD reunion. Jay was showing Chris the universal kid free weekend sign:)

Jax woke up from his nap just in time to throw on his favorite hoodie and walk them out. He LOVES the Oldenburgs!

Thanks Chris, Carolyn and Cora for spending the day with us, we had a blast!!

Jackson's First Homework Assignment

Jackson had his first homework assignment last week. Jay was super excited to work on decorating the scarecrow and had buttons and straw and everything ready to go. I'm pretty sure he cared about it more than Jax but it was still cute to see them working on something together while I was making dinner. So, here's a first for Jack and thanks again to Jay who is such a great daddy!

Praying

Jackson loves to pray but tonight is the first night he has wanted to pray by himself before dinner.
"God great God good, thank God for food. Amen. Oh yeah, peez help Nanny feel better soon!"
We have been praying for Nanny to feel better for a few months now and Jackson always says his relatives names in the bedtime prayer but this was his first specific family dinner prayer.

Weekend at Mandy's

Before you begin, this post is way too long but that's how I roll these days:)

Last Thursday after Jackson's Mother's Day Out we went to visit Mandy. Jackson had been begging us to go for quite some time. Can you tell how excited he was during our road trip?

By the way, he's holding his "own debit card" that he carries everywhere with him. It's the rebate card we got from buying Jay's iphone and is expired:)

We stopped in Waco to walk around the Baylor campus. It was so much fun for Jay and I and Jackson loved the bear pit. He kept saying "awwww, sic 'em bears!" Unfortunately the bears were sleeping but we made the same stop on the way back and they were awake. My camera battery was of course dead by then.

We finally made it to Mandy's to find a mountain of birthday presents on her table waiting for Jax. Here they are playing with one of his new toys.

And the remote control tarantula was a major hit. . .

. . .with both guys!

A few of Jackson's new things.

Giving Aunt Mandy a thank you hug while reaching for another present.

Tools are definitely the way to Jax's heart.

Modeling his new tool belt.

Jackson loved Mandy's new table with the tumbled glass.

Jack and Jay having fun in the bounce house.

I love that smile:)

Jackson was so excited to mow the lawn with Jay.

Seriously, Jackson was obsessed with the john deer.

Even when it had to go up he still wanted to play on it.

Guy time was big this weekend. If Jay walked anywhere Jackson would yell, "don't leave out me daddy. One minute, I need shoes! Please wait me daddy!" And of course Jay always waited. It's so cool seeing Jackson love his awesome daddy so much.

Jackson getting ready to fish with daddy.

Mandy had a special frame waiting for the sonogram picture I promised her:)

Very proud about the "men only" fishing expedition he was about to embark on.

"See mine fishing stuff!"

Mandy's precious nephew, Mac, came to play on Saturday. As you can see Jackson loved him at first sight.

Jackson was trying to coax a much more cautious Mac into the bounce house.

Always happy at Aunt Mandy's:)

It amazes me how fast he is growing up.

Goofy guy.

More hugs. Jackson followed Mac around and was trying to straighten his shirt and help him with everything. Mac, who has two older brothers, didn't seem to mind.

Funny Mac on the dragon.

I love it when Jackson laughs so hard that he throws his head back.

Jackson in his awesome new Mickey Mouse hoodie. Thanks Nanny!

He insisted on wearing Mickey Mouse all of the time.

Thanks so much to Mandy for such a great long weekend!
