Birthday Celebration at Papa and Nana's

A few weeks ago we celebrated birthdays (Uncle Jer's, mine and Papa's) at Papa and Nana's house. We had such a fun afternoon of laughing, swimming and of course eating.

Bear got lots of love from everyone! Uncle Jer is a baby holding pro:)
The kids both adore their uncle Jeremy.
Noah is amazed by how sweet little Bear is, I suspect that 5 years from now he and Aunt Jess may want a little one:)
This picture is out of order but Bear still loves to chill in the bumbo.
A good smile from Bearopolis. . .one of his many nicknames.
Uncle Jer was Jackson's favorite to play with at Nana and Papa's house.
Aunt Jess, Nana and Bear.

Jackson loves playing in the pool.

Papa and Bear. Notice Bear's blue jeans diaper, we got a free pack and they are super cute!
Thanks so much to Papa and Nana for such a fun day!

Jackson's Spring Program

Several weeks ago (I'm very behind on my blogging) Jackson's school put on their spring play. It was so precious! The kids ranged in ages from 12 months to 4 years and they all sang and danced. The theme was God's love and Jackson's class sang "Soul Man" and "I Feel Good." Despite our whole family hiding and sitting in the back (to avoid the crying we experience at the Christmas play) Jackson still spotted me very quickly. Luckily he just shouted "hey mom!" and waved and went back to singing. Due to our sitting in the back we weren't able to get any good pictures or video but here's what we did get. I am so thankful for Jackson's wonderful school and his loving teachers!

Here is Ellie's class. She's in the white pants and did such an awesome job!

Jack did such a great job. His proud little brother did us a favor and slept silently the entire time!

My favorite moment. . .Jackson "itching" his nose on stage. . .greatness. . .

Big Bear in the Bumbo

Last week I thought Baron might be big enough for the bumbo. . .and he loves it! It's hard to believe he's already big enough for that type of thing but it's true. Notice the amount of drool on my little man's chest. I'm wondering if he's teething. It seems too early but he's always drooling and chewing on his fingers.
He also has a scratch on his face in these shots. Poor little guy got scratched while at church. Apparently infants are vicious:)

Here's the little man taking a nap while I was making dinner. He slept like this for 3 hours. I know the days of him sleeping through anything are numbered so I am enjoying it while it lasts!

Mother's Day/32nd Birthday

Last weekend was really fun with it being mother's day, my birthday and getting to see the Oldenburgs:)
For mother's day Jay and Jackson got up early and brought me breakfast. Then after church we went to my great aunt Margaret's 100th birthday. Aunt Margaret is my great grandmother's sister-in-law. It was amazing to see a 100 year old woman who still lives on her own and is very healthy.
After the party we went to Gaga's house for a mother's day/birthday dinner. It was so nice to relax with the family.

Jackson is always happy at Gaga's house.
Daddy and Bear taking a nap together.
Uncle Jer was very excited to be celebrating with us:)
Jackson trying to put Gaga's hair in a ponytail.
Sunday morning Jackson brought me a precious gift he made for me at school.
On my actual birthday I got to go to lunch with Adrienne, SANS KIDS, which was awesome. Then after a fabulous lunch and a day without any cleaning Jay and I went to the church leadership dinner which was also really nice. It was a really nice weekend and made me feel so lucky to have such an incredible family. I am so blessed and took time to really thank God for everything he has given me!

A Visit with the Oldenburg Family

Last Saturday we had a visit from the Oldenburg family. It was so nice to catch up with Chris and Carolyn and watch Jackson play with sweet little Cora! And of course it was fun to introduce Baron to everyone.
Thanks so much for such a great afternoon and a wonderful lunch!

Super dad Chris immediately wanted to hold little Bear.
I LOVE this picture of the 3 kids. 26 years ago when Carolyn and I first became friends we had no idea about these 3 amazing little people.
Jackson is losing control here. Bear is slipping and Cora is reaching for Carolyn to pick her up:) Jackson was being bribed with a treat so of course he held on for dear life. So funny!
Sweet little Cora is getting so big!

Jackson's summer haircut

Jackson has been begging to get his hair cut for a while now. I finally gave in. . .and although I loved his hair long he does still look pretty cute.

Big Bear

Baron is getting so big and he even sleeps in his own crib now. We moved him to the crib at 12 weeks (Jackson went to his crib at 8 weeks) and he's done just fine. Here is how he looked in the bassinet before the big switch.

You can see that if he was fully stretched out he wouldn't fit:)

Toot Face

Yes, I know the title may shock you. . .but as a boy mom it's what I must report on. I read the girl mom blogs and see pictures of princess parties and toddlers drinking tea out of china without anything breaking and feel as though I'm reading another language. My language contains swords and we fight fires and use lots of tools. But I digress, anyway, as a boy mom there are certain things I have had to accept. One of these things is that bodily functions will be not only discussed but also a great source of pride for my three guys. That being said I will say that the smallest of the Adams men, little Bear has the most impressive gas I have ever heard. Now I know this isn't typical blog material but it has become such a part of our day I felt the need to include it. Jay often comments that Bear has "man gas" due to it's, well, eruptions. Bear's gas is so loud and impressive that Jackson has actually developed a face in response. When ever Baron toots Jackson immediately exclaims, "toot face" and makes the face below.

False alarm, this is not the toot face, I just liked this picture.
Here ya go. . .Jackson's "toot face!"

Like father like son

Jay has been doing a ton of yard work recently and Jackson loves it. Jackson gets right out there with him every time and is so excited to be working with daddy. The first day he ran in and said, "mommy, daddy is so cool and he only wants to work with ME!" A bit later he came back in to check on me and then reminded me, "we are doing man work mommy. Only for men, no girls. So don't come out there, we are just fine!" I love seeing how excited Jackson gets when he has "man time" with daddy!
He usually wears a tool belt, goggles, earphones, etc when doing the lawn work, however, this particular day all he had was the tool belt:)

Zoolander. . .

This is Jack and Emma after a long game of chase at church last week. I just thought it was a funny picture. Jack's hair is so out of control and they are both exhausted!
