Cain's Birthday Party

The Saturday before Easter was Cain's second birthday party at pump it up. We had such a blast and Cain is such a precious little man. Here are a few pictures of the fun!

Jay and Jackson zooming down the slide. Thanks for the picture Jess:)

Jay was checking out the bounce houses even when Jackson wasn't around.

Baron's Two Month Check Up

Today I took Baron for his two month check up. He's doing great as expected. He's 26 inches (95+%) and 12 pounds 12 ounces (76%). Now, being told my son was in the 76% was quite a shocker. I've never had a baby below 95+. You would have thought that the nurse had said he was starving. I immediately asked if she was sure and looked at the chart myself. Then I asked if Baron was ok and if she thought he was eating enough. Should I wake him up in the middle of the night for an extra feeding? She thought I was crazy and made sure I understood that 76% means that he's bigger than 76% of all babies his age. I did understand that but just never thought I would have such a "small" baby. Ha! Anyway, I'm thrilled that Baron is doing so well and still surprised that 24% of babies, as Jay put it, can "take him." Jackson at 40 pounds and 2 1/2 years is still in the 95%+ category so hopefully he'll take care of his tiny brother:)
In the car the other day Baron was crying and Jackson looked over and said, "chill Bear, it's not that bad!" I can't wait to hear all of the funny exhanges these guys will have over the years!

Easter 2010

Easter this year was so much fun! It was the first year that Jackson dyed eggs and well, he was super excited and then didn't really have the patience for it. He enjoyed about the first 15 minutes. He accidentally spilled some of the dye on the floor and then when I went to get something to clean it up he had purposefully poured another color on top of it. Trying to see what color the combination would produce. . .nice. Anyway, we continued our egg dying outside:)

Not too sure about this. . .

I don't want to dye eggs!

After I explained what we were going to do he got really excited:)

On our way to Gaga's house we drove by the Griswald's (a family in our neighborhood who decorate elaborately for EVERY holiday) and they had the Easter bunny outside greeting all of the cars/kiddos. Jackson was beside himself. He was so thrilled and has not stopped talking about the fact that the "real" easter bunny lives in our neighborhood!

Part of their yard decorated for Easter.

This picture makes the bunny look kind of creepy but it was actually really cool for Jax.

He gave Jackson a big hug through the window.

After our encounter with the Easter bunny we went to Gaga's for an egg hunt and a delicious lunch.

Jackson hunting for eggs. He wasn't too into it and actually said Jay could finish for him. He did get a ton of awesome treats though!

Bear watching the hunt.

Jackson looking through his loot. He really reminds me of his Uncle B.J. in this picture.

Bill and Baron are serious buddies.

Jackson was very happy with the Easter snacks.

Next we went to Papa and Nana's for another fun egg hunt and dinner.

Bye Bye Scale

Thank goodness Baron has gained weight so well because we were able to return the baby scale the Thursday before last! For weeks I had weighed Baron before, during and after each feeding. Jackson was even operating the scale most of the time. I have 24 pages of the information. . .thank God I'm done with that! Here's little Bear on the scale for the last time.

Jackson was so excited that Baron was doing so well.

He looks so big on the scale!

This weight is a little high because he's fully dressed but we were still happy! I'm sure from here on out we'll just be amazed at how big he will be. . .much like his brother!

Easter Party at School

I was able to host Jackson's Easter party again this year and it was so much fun. Baron helped me out tremendously by sleeping the whole time:)

Baron doing his part to make the party a success.

Getting directions for the big egg hunt.

Going outside to hunt eggs.

The happy class post hunt.

Jackson always has to find a stick to pretend to fish with. . .Jay's son for sure!

It was such a fun party and I learned that Jackson is not very competitive yet. He wasn't at all concerned with finding eggs. The ones he did find he was happy to give away:) Somehow he ended up with a few and that made him more than happy. I still so much appreciate being able to be a part of all of his school parties. Being his mother is such a blessing!

Brothers. . .

Baron at around 7 weeks. . .

Happy Bear.

He looks so small to be such a big baby.

Jackson at about 12 weeks. . .

Big Jack always smiled.

Love my Jackers:)

Despite Jackson being 5 weeks older in these pictues he was definitely bigger even at the same age. At 8 weeks Jackson was 15 pounds 5 ounces. At 7 weeks Baron was 12 pounds 8 ounces. According to the lactation consultant Baron hasn't quite caught up due to his three weeks of losing weight but he's obviously not wasting away! Baron is also 2+ inches longer than Jackson was at this age.
Love my two big guys!

Family Time

Lately we take a lot of family walks. Since Jackson pretty much refuses to ride in a stroller we don't walk very quickly. . .but we still have fun!

Exploring the creek.

Baron most likely wondering where he is and what is going on.

Happy Jax running around at the park. Notice he usually has at least one tool with him. Today he needed pliars at the park. He "fixed" much of the play ground equipment.

Never did I think that basket was made for a 40 pound kid, but Jackson proved it's pretty strong!

Doesn't look too comfortable does it?
