Jackson called his Gaga Thursday night. . .
Jackson: Gaga, where are you? Come my house now pweese.
Gaga: I can't tonight I'm at a Bible studay.
Jackson: (eyes as wide as saucers and speaking in a quiet voice) A Bible study? Gaga. . .is Jesus there with you?

Bear

Little Bear is now 10 pounds 3 1/2 ounces and counting! He's supposed to be 11 1/2 pounds by now so I'm hoping in another few weeks he'll be all caught up and growing the way Jackson did.

Baron is such a sweet little baby. He needs to be held a little more than Jackson did but is still a very happy little dude. He far prefers to go to sleep on a shoulder than in his bassinet during the day but at night is pretty good about just going to sleep. We're just so happy and in love with this tiny man.

Christopher Robin

Jackson loves Winnie the Pooh and convinced Gaga to buy him rain boots and an umbrella so that he could walk around in the front yard saying, "tut tut it looks like rain." It was pretty precious and I think we all enjoyed watching and hearing him as much as he enjoyed doing it. Thanks Gaga!

Laugh

Baron is all smiles for Daddy, Jackson, Gaga and Nana these days. Not as much for mommy. I guess he knows I'm all about feeding him and the rest of his family are for fun. I've been really trying to get some good smile pics but so far he turns it off as soon as I turn the camera on. Tonight Bill and Grandmommy were here and Jay was getting Bear to smile like crazy and he actually laughed. Not a huge laugh like Jackson's first but a definite two coo laugh. It was precious! I've tried to recreate it several times to no avail so it will likely be awhile before I hear it again but it was SO cute!

Big Brother Jack

Jackson has gotten so good with Baron lately. He runs straight for him to give him a love (hug) and kiss anytime he sees him. He also let's Baron know that when he leaves with daddy or for school he'll be right back. In addition he is obsessed with the fact that he and Baron need a little sister. He keeps asking me if a sister is in my tummy yet. I've told him we have no sister plans. I'm just wondering how this subject has even gotten into his head. He says Bear wants a sister too and that God will give them one. Funny.
He is also very protective of Bear. And I think he will be quite the bossy big brother. This morning he said, "when Baron gets bigger bigger and runs into the alley I will chase him and spank him so he don't get hurt by cars." And when I talk to Baron Jackson always looks at me and says, "mommy, remember Baron don't talk well. Wait he get a little bigger bigger."

Mommy!

For some reason nothing makes me need my mommy like becoming a mommy. My awesome mom was sweet enough to stay with us for two whole weeks. She took complete care of Jackson while cooking, cleaning and taking care of me the whole time. I'm sure she was completely exhausted after staying up with me while I pumped until 1 or 2 in the morning but she was still up every day with Jackson at 7. She took Jax to chuck e cheese (multiple times), to his very first movie at the theater (The Princess and the Frog), to ride horses at the mall, to my moms group play dates and so many other places. She brought me breakfast, organized my kitchen and met with the lactation consultant with me. Basically she took total care of Jay, Jackson and myself. All I had to do was feed Baron. I have no idea how I would have made it through Jackson or Baron's births without her. It's such a blessing that she is willing to take off so much work just to come work at my house. I'm sure an actual vacation would have been so much more fun and relaxing. Anyway mom, you are incredible and I so appreciate you and all that you do for us!

Progress

Last Thursday Baron weighed 9 pounds 2 ounces and today he's 10 pounds 1 ounce. I am on day six of sleeping about 3ish hours (last night I got a two hour stretch!) a night and nursing or pumping 16+ hours a day and I'm seeing good results:) Our little guy is doing great and seeming far more awake and alert. Hopefully soon we can get back to a normal schedule!

Big Bro, Lil Bro

Back when Lennon was born Jenna's sweet sister in law, LeNan, made Big Sis, Lil Bro shirts for Mia and Lennon. Before Baron was born I asked her where she had gotten the supplies and she was sweet enough to make some for me. These are my favorites and I haven't gotten great pictures with them yet but I'm going to keep trying. Thanks LeNan:)

Happy 3 weeks Baron

Well, I haven't posted any new pictures in a few days because I've basically been either nursing or pumping around the clock. At two weeks Baron had not only not gained weight but had lost again. He was down to 9 pounds 6 ounces last Friday. My pediatrician said it was no big deal for babies to lose weight at this point. . .I didn't quite trust that had had a lactation consultant came to my house. At that point he was down to 9 pounds and 2 ounces. Glad I trusted my instincts!
Poor little guy was very hungry but we didn't know it because he was sleeping such long stretches etc. After his two week check up last week I had started feeding him far more often, waking him every 3 hours etc. And then the LC said to wake him up and feed him every 2 1/2 hours and pump after and then supplement. Getting out the old pump out for use 8-9 times a day was a bit of a bummer but the LC was confidant that Bear will have no problem nursing exclusively once he gains enough weight.
So, the good news is we don't have the nursing problems we had with Jax but the bad news is due to the time in the NICU my supply hasn't allowed Bear to gain the weight he needs. Luckily by skipping uneccesary things (like sleep, showers, etc.) and nursing, pumping and bottle feeding around the clock is already working and Baron was up to 9 pounds 5 ounces today! So, wish us luck. . .hopefully in the next week I'll be back to a more normal schedule (maybe even some sleeping and showering) with a quickly growing little guy.
