First Day of School 2013

On Tuesdays we go to our homeschool coop for Classical Conversations.  Here are our first day of school pictures:

Jackson Turns 6!

I am officially 3 months behind on the blog but I have good reasons.  With none of the boys being in preschool, homeschooling Jackson and having Lincoln not sleeping through the night I’m just spent.  Plus my computer crashed and I was without one for quite some time and then mom saved the day and gave me her old laptop (huge praise!).  Anyway, things are going really well and I’m blessed beyond measure, but the blog has fallen by the wayside.  So, my new goal is to be caught up by Christmas.  We’ll see how it goes!

So, my precious Jackiebobo turned a big 6 years old on Saturday, August 24th.  There are just not enough words to express how much I love my boys and thinking about Jack and what a precious soul he is, I just praise God that He chose me to be Jack’s mommy.  Jackson is smart, funny, witty, caring, empathetic, compassionate, creative and an all around good guy.  He’s also fiercely competitive and VERY argumentative.  He really needs to be an attorney someday because he completely exhausts me arguing about EVERYTHING.  He has more energy than any child I have ever encountered and is active beyond most boys.  He will climb/scale anything that is more than 1 inch off of the ground and has almost no regard to physical pain what-so-ever.  He loves the Lord and really enjoys both church and AWANA’S.  He will do almost anything to impress and or emulate his father and is very loyal and protective.  I’ve spent almost every day of the last 6 years with this little man and I wouldn’t trade that time for anything.  Being able to stay at home with my boys is by far the most incredible blessing and the most amazingly difficult job that I have ever had.  But enough of the mommy sappy stuff.  Now onto how we celebrated our guy!

On Friday, the 23rd, Jackson wanted me to take a picture of his last day of being 5 years old:

Then the boys had snacks and played pirates in the fort.

That night we started the celebration early and went to Jackson’s favorite restaurant for buffalo wings:

Then on Saturday we had a whole day of fun!

First of all we had breakfast at Kerbey Lane, our favorite restaurant!

Then it was onto Discover the Dinosaurs. . .which was a blast!

The boys loved seeing all of the dinosaurs and Jay and I enjoyed reading all of the facts.

My silly guys.

We skipped naps and poor little Bear didn’t fare too well.  He had a major meltdown and as you can see Jay was just thrilled.  Ah, such is life.  Soon enough it was all over and Bear was having fun again.

So funny to see big Jack in the double stroller.

The dino rides were a big hit!

We spent over an hour at the bounce house station.

After the dinosaur exhibit we went home to grill for dinner.  Then our sweet next door neighbor came over and had seen on facebook that it was Jackson’s birthday and gotten him a gift.  As you can see, the gift was a huge hit!

After dinner Jackson went and played hide and seek with the neighborhood kids until 10 p.m.  He turned 6 like a boss and said it was his best birthday ever!

Love that little guy!

One day while I was putting Lincoln down for a nap,  Jackson  grew claws. . .

Pine Cove Day 7: Saturday

Our last day at Pine Cove was really just breakfast and worship time and then packing up and heading out.

Jackson’s character award:
It says he’s confident and determined. . .I definitely agree!

Baron was in Cove Kids and made a book called, Jesus’ Family Tree:

It’s pretty funny that his family tree included both Jason and Clara, two of the kids in our neighborhood.

The last page is Bear’s character award.  It says, “Baron is confident.  His enthusiasm brings excitement to those around him.  Baron is funny and expressive.

Love these sweet kiddos!

IMG_5424

What an amazing week!  After pulling the boys out of preschool to pay for camp I can definitely say that it’s a huge sacrifice but totally worth it.  God definitely worked on each of us that week.  Each of the kids (well, not Lincoln) said things about camp that just warmed my heart.  Jackson told us that it was by far the best week of his entire life.  Lennon had already planned out how many more years it would be until he could work as a counselor.  We all had such a blast and we enjoyed every minute!  Praise The Lord for such a wonderful vacation!

Less than 5 minutes after leaving Pine Cove, Jackson was out.

After leaving PC we went straight to see June and Earl.  Lincoln was happy in Gaga’s lap.

It was so nice to see them as it had been WAY too long!

Lennon and I had such a great week together.  I can’t even express how much I love this crazy, silly, smart and quirky kiddo.  His little smile just kills me.  Love my precious nephew and am so thankful that we got to be even better buddies at camp.

After visiting with the Entrekin’s for a few hours we headed to Cracker Barrel for lunch.

We could hardly stand knowing that Mia and Lennon had to leave.

Love that my mom and the kids are so very close.  My boys are blessed with the best grandparents ever (well, other than my grandparents!).
