The Darndest Things. . .

Jack: Hey Mom, God is powerful right?

Me: Yes.

(Disclaimer-Jackson did not speak in complete sentences therefore you have to deal with crazy run-ons etc, below)

Jack: Hmmm, well, is He powerful enough to eat a human and chew him up. . .and then stuff his hand all of the way down his throat, without throwing up or even gagging, and then grab all of the pieces of the person and put him back together with out using any glue at all and then the person walks off and is just fine?  Is he that powerful mom?

Me: Yes Jackie, God is that powerful.

Hmmmm. . .

After Jack’s second day of school I was in the car pool line and saw my boys holding hands and looking super sweet (yes, I’m very biased).  When Jackson got into the car his teacher told me that he had introduced his little brother to his friends and said, “my little brother is very cute, if ya’ll want to pet him you can!  Really, go ahead and pet his curly hair.”

Jack’s First Day of School

With Jackson back in town we were so excited about his first day in Pre K.  He loves school so much and couldn’t wait to go back.

He was equally thrilled to have a new spiderman back pack!

Can you tell that Bear was happy to have his big bro back as well.

I just love those dimples.

Bear just kept loving on Jack.

Jack finally bent down and gave Bear a hug and said, “Bear, you’re a great little brother!”

I just can’t believe how big my little man looks these days!

Jack did great in school.  His teacher said that he asked 3 times to go look in on Bear in his class.  Jack also came home asking if he could go to school all of the days that they are open.  I love that he loves school and pray that it continues throughout his life!

Keanan James Hirst

I’ve been awful about posting about new babies this year.  But no better time to start than the presnt:

I was so nervous about going to Beach City for Labor Day because Adrienne STILL hadn’t had her baby.  We decided to come back a day early and I just knew he’d be born on Labor Day.

I am so thankful that we were home when Adrienne went into labor because I would have hated to miss Keanan’s big arrival.  Here’s the newest precious little man in the Hirst household:

Welcome to the world Keanan James!!  We love you already!

Labor Day at Nanny and Paw Paw’s House

At the end of the week we went down to Beach City for Labor Day weekend and to bring Jackson home with us.

Bear was so happy to see Jackson, Paw Paw and Nanny.

Paw Paw always does so many fun things.  This time he made a kite with Jackson out of newspaper and sticks.  It was super cool and they had a blast making it.

One of Jackson’s favorite things is riding the 4 wheeler with Bruce.

Jack said Nanny was his best friend.

I love that these 3 are so close!

We all had such a great time!  Several times throughout the weekend I asked Jackson what his favorite part of his week was, here are some of his answers (they were always different):
1) baking cookies

2) watching the sun rise one morning

3) feeling the breeze and hearing the waves on the front porch

4) working with Paw Paw in the shop

5) hearing stories out of Nanny and Paw Paw’s “old testing Bible”

6) loving on Nanny

7) talking to Nanny during bath time

Thanks again!

Jackson’s Week at Nanny and Paw Paw’s House

On Monday the 29th I met Nanny and Paw Paw half way so that Jackson could spend a few days alone with them.  He was so proud that his grandparents had specifically asked so spend time alone with him.  He even told his teacher at meet the teacher that he was going to help his Paw Paw work and use “serious tools.”  I was really nervous on the drive to meet them that he would cry and change his mind about going.  I could not have been more wrong!  He was so thrilled and happily climbed into their car and kissed me good bye.  What I hadn’t counted on is that Bear wanted to go too.  He cried to stay with Nanny in their car.

Bear quickly got over it and Jackson had a complete blast that week!  Here are some pictures that Paw Paw took (knowing that I was going crazy missing my little man) and sweetly emailed me with updates of their days.

Jackson loved that he got to go swimming every day!

This is one of my favorite pictures.  It was so great for Jackson to get such wonderful one on one time.

By the time I got these pictures I was just worried that Jackson wouldn’t ever want to come home!

August_201137

Jay was also excited about the pictures. . .the pier was just recently rebuilt.  Jay was dreaming about fishing after seeing this picture.

August_201142

Jackson has his own parking spot for his “Jack Deer” tractor.

Being so close to my own grandparents I love it that Jack has such awesome grandparents as well.  My boys are so blessed to have 3 loving sets of grandparents.  I think time alone in Beach City will make such wonderful life long memories for Jack.

August_201182

Can you tell he’s happy?!

August_201184

Jackson loved cleaning the pool with Paw Paw (his hand is all that made it in this picture).  Paw Paw is so sweet to always include Jackson on whatever project/chore/etc. he is working on and Jackson absolutely loves it.

And just for Paw Paw. . .essence of sea gull. . .thanks to my favorite father in law  for this shot!

Thanks so much to Nanny and Paw Paw for taking such wonderful care of Jackson and giving him such a fantastic week!

Bear’s 1st Day of School

August 30th was Bear’s first day of school and it was AWESOME.  I was so nervous to take my baby to preschool but he loved it and did great!  Jackson is having a blast this week at his Nanny and Paw Paw’s house so it was strange waking up with just the tiny man.  Having his favorite breakfast before his first ever day of school.

It’s pretty difficult to carry a backpack when it’s half your size!

DSC_0005DSC_0006

Dragging it is much easier!

DSC_0010

This is Jackson’s backpack from last year and Bear is so proud to have it.  He kept looking at it saying, “Jackie? Mine!” and smiling.

DSC_0014

He was so happy walking into his room.

DSC_0015

And he quickly wedged himself between Dora and Diego.

DSC_0018

When his sweet teacher picked him up he just looked at me, smiled and said, “bye bye!”

Jackson always cried on the first day of school but Baron was just fine.  It was hard for me though.  Can’t believe it’s the first day of school for my very last baby. . .
