Jay’s 34th birthday

February is a crazy month for us.  Actually it starts in January with our anniversary on the 29th, then Jay’s birthday February 11th then Baron’s birthday on February 12 and then Valentine’s day on the 14th.  There is so much to celebrate in a 2 week period that we end up combining  a lot.  BUT we don’t skip birthdays!  So, for Jay’s birthday this year we went to eat at Texas de Brazil and took Jackson.  Taking Jackson was a huge deal for him.  He was so excited and wore his suit and talked about daddy’s special birthday celebration the entire week prior.  Jackson had said a few things the past couple of weeks that had made me want to do something special for him b/c he was feeling a little left out since Baron is the baby.  Anyway, an “adult fancy dinner” (coined by Jack) was just the thing to let him know that being the older child is very special too!

Jackson had a fantastic time and was very well behaved.  And Jay loved having him with us and showing him so many new things.  Both Jackson and Jay’s favorite food is steak so Texas de Brazil was the perfect place.  What a fun night and having Jack there made it all the more special!

This picture cracks me up because I had just told Jackson that we were going to let him try a cinnamon sugar banana after dinner.  Can you tell he’s excited!

Jackson’s Chapel

Last month Jackson’s class presented Chapel at school.  It was SO precious.  I know I always say this but the more time I spend up there the more I love the school.   The teachers are the sweetest Christian women and the children are just adorable.  Anyway, I didn’t get any pictures (shock I know) but I did get some (really long) videos.  They are not the best quality and are a little shaky b/c I was also holding Baron.  So, the grandparents will probably be the only people who want to watch these but they are super cute.  Jackson plays Jesus and did a great job with his lines and added several comments that weren’t in the script.  Here ya go!

Video #1 is the actual skit where Jackson plays Jesus.

Video #2 is the class singing.
Video #3 is the class singing and Baron crawling up to Jackson. It’s so sweet because Jackson is so excited about his brother being there. Jackson is always so proud to have Baron meet his classmates. I know this won’t always be the case but I’m loving it right now!

Super Bowl Party

I’m really trying to get caught up here yet I’m over a month behind.  But I’m working on it and that’s what counts right?!  So, here’s the report from the super bowl party on February 6th.  And this just happens to be the day that Baron took his first independent step.  So, I now know that it took him from February 6th to March 11th to start walking most of the time.   Not sure when he’ll decide to walk 100% but at least I know he won’t be any faster walking versus crawling!

Ok, on to the super bowl party which was super fun!  The party was hosted by our good friends Jess and Bart (and of course Cain) and we had a blast.  It’s so nice to be at a kid friendly party where you can relax and have fun.

So, here are the pictures:

I love this picture of Adrienne and Damian with Baron.

Baron is used to going to bed at 5 p.m. and we were at the Geiser house until after 9.  He was a champ about the late night but periodically would just lay down for awhile to rest.

Probably the funniest part of the night was when Jay, Bart and Chris decided that they were going to make millions selling fried guacamole.  It was hysterical!  They were so excited. . .even after Damian busted their bubble telling them he didn’t get it and I told them it had already been done.  Not to mention it’s not really a patentable idea.  Anyway, it was funny!

Thanks Bart, Jess and Cain for hosting such a fun party!

Baron’s Walking!

Baron has been taking a few steps here and there for awhile but yesterday he actually started walking as his main mode of transportation (probably 70% of the time).  If we are all in a room together all he will do is walk however if he is chasing after his brother he quickly drops to a crawl because his walking is still very slow.  Anyway, unfortunately Jackson had a stomach bug yesterday so we didn’t get any great videos but here are 2 decent videos of Bear walking:

Jack and Baron Fun Day

A few weeks ago we had a good old fashioned Jackson (and now Baron) fun day!

We of course started out with lots of play time before heading to the carousel at the mall.  It was Baron’s first time to ride and he loved it.

My 3 favorite guys!

And after a yummy lunch at Jackson’s favorite place, Chick Fil A, we headed home for play time, naps and then more play time.  There are lots of pictures of Baron because I was still working on his Friday pictures.

SNOW WEEK!

Last month we had some seriously crazy weather.  Schools were closed down for 4 straight days.  It had snowed and iced so much that nobody could go anywhere.  Jay’s company even shut down so he was home with us all 4 days.  Luckily we had ample warnings about the wild weather so I had stocked up at the store and we had a really great time together.  I so enjoyed having Jay home (even though he was still working) and it reminded me of how great (despite the financial stress) it was being together all of the time during his unemployment last year.  So, while we all had cabin fever by the time we were able to drive on Saturday (we hadn’t left the house since Monday) it was also a really great family time of fun.

Sweet Baron in his favorite spot waiting for breakfast.

Another thing I forgot to mention is that I was sick for a good portion of the week.  It worked out perfectly for me to be under the weather because with Jay working from home he was able to get up with the boys and give me a little extra rest in the mornings.  Anyway, during that week and weekend of Jay getting up with the boys each day (a huge thank you to my awesome husband) Baron got so attached to Jay.  It’s so sweet now that after that time he really goes crazy when Jay walks into the room.  And he prefers to be held by Jay most of the time now.   It’s really sweet and I love seeing my sweet boys so attached to their awesome daddy!
