Birthday Ideas

Since Jackson will be two in one month and one day I've been asking him fairly often what he would like for his birthday. Typically he asks for money to "wide horses," today his answer was different.

Me: Jackson you are almost 2 years old. Your birthday is coming up.
Jax: Yeaaaaaaaaaa! Presents?!?
Me: Yes, you will get presents, what do you want?
Jax: Enin (Lennon)
Me: Well, Lennon can't come baby, he's in Boston.
Jax: No, buy Enin.
Me: Well, we can't buy a person Jackson
Jax: Buy Enin come our home peez!
I've told him I don't think Jenna and Shelby would sell Lennon to us but he seems convinced it might work.

Yesterday's Exchange

Me: Who is mommy's little man?
Jax: Yackson
Me: Who is mommy's pud?
Jax: Yackson
Me: Who is mommy's sweetest baby?
Jax: Yackson
Me: Who does mommy love soooo much?
Jax: Dada

I expected him to answer Jackson to all of the above questions. Funny little dude:)

Gaga's Awesome Backyard

Last night we went to Gaga and Paw Paw's house to spend the night with them and Uncle Jeremy (Uncle Deremy as Jax calls him).
Gaga's back yard is totally awesome. It's not only huge but she bought some great swing set stuff from Dustin and LeNan and now it's Jackson's favorite place.

Uncle Deremy swinging Jackson.

Jackson loving the baby pool.

The water was pretty cold.

He was having such a blast and it was great because we moved all of the toys to the shaded area and so he got to be "nakky" (naked) which is his favorite way to play outside.

Looking out over his favorite place to play.

This is one of my favorite pictures of Jackson.

Jackson insisted on talking to "Aunt Sissy" on the phone while wearing Gaga's reading glasses.

Here's another one of my favorites!

Giant Jackson

Saturday I went to a consignment sale where I paid only $10.00 for everything I could stuff into a bag. Talk about my kind of sale! Thanks so much to Adrienne for the tip on the sale:) I got Jackson an adorable new outfit (several actually) that was a 3T and it won't even stay buttoned. He's now barely over 3 feet (37 inches) and 34 pounds (down from 36). He was so excited about the new outfit, because it had turtles on it, and was very sad as he said "too tight" immediately upon my buttoning it. He still looks cute even if it won't stay buttoned.

Jackson jumping on "mommy dada new mattness."

I know I've taken tons of pictures lately but I know I need to cut his hair soon and just love his long baby hair:)

Jackson was wearing his new shoes and new outfit and thought his Halloween bag would be the perfect new hat.

This horse has been one of Jackson's very favorite toys (along with his blocks) since he got it for his first birthday.

Happy Jack.

Story Time

Sunday we watched Ellie for a few hours. After being out of the room for a minute I came back to find Jay having a blast reading to the two kiddos.

Money, Need Mo' Money!

Jackson has a new obsession with money. It started a while back when after buying him some new shoes I took him to ride the carousel at the mall. After spending $5.00 on 3 carousel rides I let him know that we were out of money and had to go home. Ever since he's tried to squeeze money out of everyone and everything. He constantly explains "Yackson need mo money. Need money to wide horses mall." It's pretty funny. He will try almost any food or do almost any chore (kind of) for pay. And he actually asks on some things now if he does them will he get money. Awesome, I thought we might have more than 2 years before he started expecting a wage. Even funnier is that he stockpiles all of his money in his lunch box from mothers day out. He quickly adds his new coins and at least one time each day he "counts" his money and asks if it's enough to "wide (ride) horses." Last weekend we decided to reward his entrepreneurial spirit and take him to the carousel. While there he had a blast. He made sure that we gave him the tokens and that he paid the attendant with "Yackson own money."

All of that saving finally pays off! Jackson was thrilled to be on the horse:)

Jackson got very impatient very quickly as the kids were taking too long loading. But doesn't Jay look happy to be with his little man:)

The ride begins!

Jackson is famous for "banishing" Jay and I to sit on the bench behind his horse when he decides he wants to ride "own self." We let him choose the horse he wants to ride on and he almost always chooses the one by "dada mommy chair." Tricky little dude.

After 3 rides I told him it was time to go home. He was NOT happy. He kept assuring me that he had "mo money."

Ladies & Wine '09

After spending the week at the Weatherly's I got to have an awesome weekend with some of my best girl friends (I missed those of you who couldn't make it!) Jay was incredible and took care of Jackson at his parents house while they had two other guests (Jay's step brother, Dave, and Dave's 11 year old daughter, Ella) for the weekend. Thanks Jay for being an awesome husband and giving me a great couple of days to relax and lay by the pool!

Mandy, myself, Adrienne and Lesley in our weekend shirts (designed by Kristin) after a long day by the pool and a great dinner out.

All of the girls enjoying some Mexican food on the river walk.

Just a few of the items in the awesome gift bag that Mandy (the worlds best hostess) made for each of the weekend winos.

The Weatherly's House

After the 4th of July we went to stay with Jay in Beaumont at the Weatherly's beautiful new home. We had such a good time! Paige is an awesome host and though her home is very nice and brand new it was totally Jackson proofed. We were really able to relax and enjoy being with Jay and the Weatherlys. The last two weeks were the most time we've spent as a family in the last 8 months. It was great! The Weatherly girls are just precious. Jackson had only been around Ashlyn and Jadyn one other time but you would have thought they had been best friends for life. Jay living with the Johnathan and Paige has been such a blessing for us these last 6 months and I love knowing he's with such a nice Christian family and not all alone living out of a hotel room. Thanks so much to Johnathan and Paige for putting up with us for five nights! You guys are the best!
Here are some pictures of the kiddos having a blast:

Johnathan and Paige have an awesome spa tub that has lights that change colors and Jackson LOVED it. He basically wanted to take a bath every 6 minutes.

Sweet little Jadyn.

Ashlyn reading to Jackson in Jadyn's bed.

The kids enjoying the huge water slide in the morning before the serious heat came out.

Jackson would pull Jadyn all around the pool in her little boat.

They also have an incredible swing set. Jackson needs a yard so badly, he loved being outside the entire time we were there. He especially loved the climbing wall and scaled it several times every few minutes.

Happy Jax.

Jadyn has this turtle that sings a cha cha song and Jackson was obsessed with it. Each time we were inside he had to go play with it. This of course made it popular with all 3 kids and Jadie started sleeping with the turtle after realizing how precious it was:)

After playing out side for a few hours Jackson said he needed to "wewax" (relax) for awhile. He has a tough life.

I don't think he ever stopped smiling the entire time we were there.

Jackson and Ashlyn feeding their babies before putting them down for naps.

Craft time.

Jay came home from work one day and with his clothes still on jumped into the pool with the kids. Jax was in heaven!

On a side note Jackson was so happy and had so much fun playing with the girls and being outside that he slept for a MINIMUM of THREE HOURS each day we were there! And when I say "he" took those long naps I actually mean "we."
Paige should consider herself lucky that we ever left!

4th of July

Well, I have quite a bit to catch up on since we have been gone for two weeks but the first stop in our journey across Texas was San Antonio for the 4th of July!
We went with Papa and Nana and had an awesome time at Mandy's house. I think Jackson would rather live at Aunt Mandy's (he did actually cry today when we came home from the store and realized that we weren't going to Mandy's house). Anyway, here are some pictures of all of the fun. There was excellent food, great company (Paul, Evan and Lauren also joined us), a wonderful home and lots of family fun. Thanks Mandy!

Papa, Jackson and Aunt Mandy out by the pool.

Jack and Nana.

Jackson loved riding with Josh on the "tactor."

Jackson loves to "hit balls" with Papa.

We couldn't get any good pictures of the 3 of us but this at least proves we were all together:)

Papa and Jack jumping in the "boune house."

Jackson and daddy love their snuggle time.

More "tactor" rides for Jackson.

Paul made Jackson's day by letting him vaccum with him.

Nana helping Jackson clean the pool.

Jackson and dunkin talking on the phone.

One of the delicious dishes Paul created for us.

My man:)

My happy little man.

I love this picture of Jackson and Papa.

Nana and Jackson in the bounce house.

Jackson in his full sun protection gear:)

Jax loves to relax on Mandy's super comfortable sofa at the end of each day.

An afternoon of golfing with Dadddy.

Mandy has tons of fun toys for the kiddos.

Jackson is always happy when daddy is around!

One funny story from this trip was when Mandy had several of the bakery staff over to have a few drinks out by the pool. Jackson after watching Jay shake hands with a few of the people went up to each one to shake their hands. It was super funny and everyone said that I must have taught him networking 101. The funniest was when he picked up one of the guys beers (note: he did not drink or try to drink any of the beer so no body needs to worry and email me about the dangers of children drinking:) and carried it with him while shaking a few other guys hands. The entire weekend anytime someone new came over Jax would immediately walk up to them and shake their hands and say "Yacksin" (Jackson). I love that funny little dude!
